  • 9 Best WordPress Site Management Tools To Manage Multiple Websites in 2023

WordPress site owners know the importance of keeping their websites up to date. Plugins, themes, and the WordPress core require the latest versions to ensure a safe browsing experience for site visitors. In addition, when you keep your sites up to date, security risks drop dramatically. Although updating plugins and themes isn’t difficult, it can be overwhelming when you have to keep up with dozens or even hundreds of websites. In this post, we’ll give you our top nine picks for the best WordPress site management tools to help you quickly lessen the burden of keeping multiple websites up to date.

    Let’s get started.

What are WordPress Site Management Tools?

Before we get to the best of the best, let’s delve into what WordPress site management tools are. These tools simplify managing, monitoring, and maintaining multiple WordPress websites. With features such as updating WordPress core, themes, and plugins, performing backups, managing security, and monitoring site performance, WordPress site management tools are a massive time saver. By automating mundane tasks and providing a central location to view and manage your websites, you can reduce the risk of common site errors and make site management a breeze.

9 Best WordPress Site Management Tools

We considered a few factors when we set out to find the best WordPress site management tools. We thoroughly tested numerous platforms to determine which had the most features, the most reasonable pricing, and the most accessible interfaces to work with. With that in mind, let’s review our top nine best WordPress site management tools.

    1. MainWP: The Best Overall WordPress Site Management Tool

    MainWP WordPress site management tools

Our top pick for the best WordPress site management tool is MainWP, and with good reason. It offers an extensive range of free features, such as an uptime monitor, scheduled backups, Jetpack, Sucuri security scanning, and a site vulnerability checker. MainWP allows you to easily update plugins and themes, manage users, and easily import and export websites.

    Key Features of MainWP:

    • One-click access to each website (no password required)
    • Security scans
    • Import/Export sites
    • Health check
    • Bulk updates

    MainWP dashboard

One of MainWP’s standout features is its user-friendly interface. With an intuitive dashboard, managing multiple plugin or theme updates can be done with just one click. Organizing sites using tags, keeping notes for better organization, and effortlessly managing clients and users are also made possible with MainWP. Additionally, publishing, editing, unpublishing, or deleting posts and pages is a breeze, making post and page management fast and effective.

MainWP’s setup involves creating a new WordPress install and installing the MainWP Dashboard plugin. Afterward, the MainWP Child plugin is installed on each site you want to manage. MainWP ensures security by utilizing OpenSSL encryption, which means that once a child site is connected, it will only accept requests from that dashboard, making it a secure way to manage all your sites. Although the initial setup takes time and effort, the time-saving benefits make it well worth it in the long run.

    MainWP is Best For:

For those seeking a top-of-the-line WordPress site management tool, MainWP is an excellent choice, offering many features and options. The best part? Most of these tools are free, with a premium package featuring 32 extensions for just $29 monthly. Whether you’re managing just a few sites or hundreds, MainWP’s intuitive dashboard and outstanding features make it the top tool on our list, perfect for any WordPress user.

    Pricing: $29 per month.

    Get MainWP

    2. ManageWP

    ManageWP WordPress iste management tool

Next up on our list of best WordPress site management tools is ManageWP, and for a good reason. It offers the most free features on our list, making it a top choice for budget-conscious users. With ManageWP’s free version, you’ll get access to many helpful tools, including the ability to add unlimited websites, manage updates for plugins and themes, enjoy a monthly cloud backup, and easily access your admin dashboard with just one click. You’ll also be able to clean up post revisions and spam comments, helping keep your site running smoothly.

    Key Features of ManageWP:

    • Manage unlimited websites for free
    • One-click admin access
    • Team & client collaboration
    • Backup, clone, and migrate sites with one click (pro)
    • Maintenance mode

    ManageWP dashboard

With ManageWP, you can streamline your workflow by adding tags, assigning sites to clients, and using filters to search through them. But that’s not all ManageWP has to offer. It also includes features like maintenance mode, which allows you to update your site without losing visitors. You can also access client reporting and analytics to gauge your site’s performance and run performance checks to ensure your sites are always healthy.

To take things to the next level, you can purchase premium add-ons to access even more features. These include the ability to back up, restore, or clone your websites, perform safe updates, gain valuable SEO insights, monitor uptime and links, and more.

    ManageWP is Best For:

If you’re looking for a free site management tool to manage your websites, ManageWP is an excellent choice. However, there are some caveats. While the basic features are free, you’ll likely need to purchase their all-in-one package if you want all the bells and whistles. Unfortunately, that comes with a hefty price tag of $150 per month. That said, that cost is completely justified considering you can monitor as many websites as you like.

Pricing: Free, with monthly add-ons starting at $25.

    Get ManageWP

    3. GoDaddy Pro

    GoDaddy Pro site management tool

Our following site management tool is GoDaddy Pro, an efficient and free option for anyone seeking to manage multiple websites with ease. GoDaddy Pro’s interface is similar to ManageWP, which offers effortless plugin management, WordPress core updates, post revisions, spam comment control, uptime monitoring, and much more. With GoDaddy Pro, you can add as many websites as you want, regardless of where they are hosted.

    Key Features of GoDaddy Pro:

    • Bulk WordPress and plugin updates
    • Link monitor
    • Automatic backups
    • Performance check
    • Analytics reporting
    • Assign site tags for grouping sites

    GoDaddy Pro dashboard

The dashboard is easy to navigate, allowing you to manage every site individually or collectively. You can assign sites to different groups, making it easy to manage sites by client or tags. Furthermore, you can perform various tasks such as checking broken links, monitoring individual site performance, approving comments, and making safe updates by creating a backup of your site’s software before updates occur. Additionally, GoDaddy Pro provides client management features but is limited to adding clients with GoDaddy products.

    GoDaddy Pro is Best For:

While GoDaddy Pro is an excellent choice for those on a budget due to its free pricing, it may not be the best option for those seeking comprehensive client management tools, especially if their clients are not exclusively on GoDaddy.

    Pricing: Free

    6. CMS Commander

    CMS Commander site management tool

CMS Commander stands out as a site management tool with its user-friendly interface. Users can effortlessly manage updates, add and control WordPress user accounts, and even perform automatic backups and restorations with just one click, all within a simplified dashboard. But that’s not all; CMS Commander has gone above and beyond by providing additional features that surpass most other site management tools on our list. These features include bulk installation of plugins, the ability to copy site settings and apply them to other sites, bulk post-editing, content import, and much more.

    Key Features of CMS Commander:

    • One-click updates
    • Bulk posting
    • Bulk plugin installation
    • Copy settings from one site to another
    • Manager user accounts
    • Automatic backup & restore

    CMS Commander dashboard

Although CMS Commander’s user interface may not be the most visually appealing, its functionality is unmatched. It is designed to provide a seamless experience, allowing you to manage every aspect of your websites effortlessly. The intuitive layout, complete with well-designed tabs and icons, makes identifying and navigating the features you need easy. You can quickly determine which of your sites require updates, view critical analytics, clean up comments, access post drafts and revisions, and utilize other essential tools, such as security features, all in one place.

With an intuitive dashboard and all tools accessible on a single screen, you’ll have easy access to everything you need. Their starter plan is affordable, offering ten websites for just $12 monthly. However, if you have hundreds of sites, CMS Commander offers higher-tiered plans to accommodate your needs.

    Pricing: $12 per month.

    Get CMS Commander

    7. InfiniteWP

    InfiniteWP site management tools

Our next recommended WordPress site management tool is InfiniteWP, which stands out from the other entries on our list by not offering a free tier. Despite this, it’s still worth considering due to the range of impressive features it provides. In addition to the standard site management tools like updates, malware scanning, and one-click admin access, InfiniteWP offers much more. You can install, manage, and migrate WordPress, monitor your site’s uptime, and back up and restore sites with just one click. Moreover, it offers extensive client reporting tools that you can use to keep your clients informed about their site’s performance.

    Key Features of InfiniteWP:

    • One-click site access
    • Backup & restore
    • Install, migrate, and stage WordPress
    • Uptime monitor
    • Malware scanning

    InfititeWP dashboard

To manage multiple websites with InfiniteWP, you must first create a blank WordPress install for the admin panel to be housed. It works as the hub to monitor all of your websites. Additionally, you must install the IWP Client plugin on each site you’d like to monitor. While this does take a bit of time to accomplish (especially if you have a ton of sites), once set up, you’ll save a lot of time moving forward. In our experience, using the Chrome browser to install the software is best, as Safari was quite buggy.

    InfiniteWP is Best For:

With InfititeWP, you can sign up for free, but you’ll have to sign up for a premium account to take advantage of its services. You can monitor up to 10 sites on the starter plan for $147 annually, making it a better fit for those with only a few sites to manage. Also, due to its glitchiness on Safari, if you’re a Mac user who prefers using its native browser, you might want to consider another option, such as MainWP.

    Pricing: $147 per year

    Get InfiniteWP

    8. WP Umbrella

    WP Umbrella

WP Umbrella, our next entry on the list, offers a different approach to how you pay for its services. Its modular pricing approach allows you to pay per site instead of a fixed price for a certain number of sites. It offers a user-friendly interface that provides uptime and performance analytics, displays PHP errors, facilitates updating WordPress core, themes, and plugins, allows for scheduled backups, and even lets you create maintenance report templates for sharing site health information with clients.

    Key Features of WP Umbrella:

    • White label feature
    • Uptime and performance monitoring
    • Schedule maintenance reports
    • Bulk WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates
    • Automated backups

    WP Umbrella analytics

The uptime and performance tab allows you to view various analytics about your site’s Google PageSpeed test results, along with metrics for response time, uptime, and core web vitals, such as first contentful paint (FCP), speed index, total blocking time, and more. WP Umbrella offers a 14-day free trial without needing a credit card when signing up. This allows for plenty of time to test out the platform. One downside to WP Umbrella is the lack of comment, spam, and post-revision optimization offered by rival platforms. However, the ability to create custom site health report templates is a nice feature to offset this, which is great for keeping your clients informed about their site’s status.

    WP Umbrella is Best For:

Those with a handful of websites will appreciate WP Umbrella’s pricing structure, which charges per site rather than an inflated price like other tools on the list. Plus, if you like the idea of creating custom client reports to reflect your branding, WP Umbrella is a must.

Pricing: $1.99 per site per month.

    Get WP Umbrella

    9. iThemes Sync

    iThemes Sync

Closing out our list of best WordPress site management tools is iThemes Sync. This comprehensive tool offers a variety of features for managing multiple websites, including one-click updates for WordPress core, plugins, and themes, uptime and performance monitoring, and the ability to create backups remotely through its BackupBuddy integration. With iThemes Sync, you can also benefit from robust security options thanks to its integration with the iThemes security plugin. Additionally, the tool comes equipped with an SEO checker that seamlessly integrates with Yoast SEO, giving you real-time feedback on your SEO scores and readability.

    Key Features of iThemes Sync:

    • One-click WordPress updates
    • Custom client dashboards
    • Remote WordPress backups
    • Theme and plugin manager
    • Yoast SEO integration
    • Uptime monitoring

    iThemes sync dashboard

The iThemes Sync dashboard is a breeze to navigate. It offers several tabs that help you manage your sites effortlessly, such as updating plugins and themes, viewing site performance, and creating reports that can be automatically generated and sent to your clients. Furthermore, iThemes Sync includes a Stash tab that allows you to store all your site backups in one convenient location.

However, what truly sets iThemes Sync apart is its ability to create custom, user-friendly WordPress dashboards for your clients. With this feature, you can handpick which menu items and widgets your clients can see while hiding unnecessary and distracting admin notices. The Client Dashboard feature lets you control how your clients interact with their WordPress sites, providing a streamlined and less confusing interface.

    iThemes Sync is Best For:

For those interested in creating custom WordPress dashboards or starting a WordPress maintenance business, iThemes Sync is worth trying out. With a free 30-day trial, you’ll have ample time to test its features. Although it may not be the most budget-friendly option, it offers exceptional tools for managing clients that can help to justify the cost.

Pricing: $69 per year for 5 sites.

    Get iThemes Sync

What Are the Best WordPress Site Management Tools?

Among the site management tools highlighted in this post, MainWP and ManageWP truly stand out due to their exceptional free features, which include seamless WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates, instant WordPress access with just a single click, and the flexibility to add unlimited WordPress sites. MainWP is an ideal choice for those seeking a self-hosted solution. In contrast, ManageWP runs on cloud-based servers, eliminating the need for a separate WordPress installation for the dashboard.

  • WordPress vs Dreamweaver (2023) — Which is Better for Your Website?

Choosing the right platform to build your website can be daunting, given the many options available. While WordPress and Dreamweaver are two of the most popular platforms due to their extensive customization capabilities, it’s important to note that there are some significant differences between them. Therefore, in this post, we’ll compare WordPress vs Dreamweaver to help you decide which suits your needs better. So, let’s dive in!

WordPress vs Dreamweaver: Who Are They For?

While WordPress and Dreamweaver allow you to build responsive and effective websites, they differ significantly in their approach. Therefore, before we can assess which platform would be the best fit for you, let’s delve into each.

    What is WordPress?

    WordPress vs Dreamweaver

WordPress is an easy-to-use content management system (CMS) that empowers you to build and manage a website effortlessly. Over time, it has become one of the most widely used platforms for creating websites, accounting for more than 43% of the internet. Being an open-source and free platform, it provides an incredible amount of themes and plugins, both free and premium, that expand WordPress’ core capabilities.

Whether you’re aiming to create a blog, a learning management system (LMS), a membership site, or an online store, WordPress makes it easy to learn and master. This makes it an excellent choice for both beginners and seasoned developers.

    What is Dreamweaver?

    WordPress vs Dreamweaver

Dreamweaver, part of the Adobe Creative Suite, is used to design, develop, and deploy websites. Users have three interfaces to choose from, including code, split (code and visual), or a visual interface with a drag-and-drop editor. However, coding skills are essential if you want to build a fully responsive website. Like WordPress, Dreamweaver supports using HTML, CSS, javascript, and PHP. Still, it’s up to the user to put all the pieces together.

Using Dreamweaver, developers can create web pages from scratch or choose from premade templates, previewing their designs on various browsers and screen sizes. Although not as popular as WordPress, Dreamweaver still holds about .3% of the market share of all websites on the internet.

    So, Who Are They For?

Comparing WordPress vs Dreamweaver can be complex as they have different approaches to creating websites. WordPress is user-friendly and ideal for those without web design experience. Furthermore, it offers incredible versatility and can be modified by developers or extended with plugins and themes to create different kinds of websites.

On the other hand, even though Dreamweaver provides a drag-and-drop interface, you still need to code draggable elements to ensure they work. Hiring a full-stack developer is also likely necessary if you’re looking to create more than an informational website. As a result, Dreamweaver is better suited for those with advanced coding knowledge.

    WordPress vs Dreamweaver: Pricing

When it comes to pricing, WordPress and Dreamweaver are very different. That said, after add-ons, they are pretty even regarding price. Let’s explore what you’ll be getting yourself into should you choose one of these platforms.

    WordPress Pricing

Calculating the overall cost of WordPress is tricky. While WordPress itself is free, there are other variables to consider. Before you ever start designing, you’ll need a choose a domain and obtain a hosting plan. While these aren’t huge costs – you can get a domain for less than $20 per year – when you factor in other things like plugins and themes, the cost can quickly add up.

    Cost of WooCommerce

For instance, let’s say you are building an ecommerce website. Once you purchase a domain and settle on a hosting plan, you’ll need good ecommerce plugins, such as WooCommerce. WooCommerce is free, but when you factor in any extras you might need, like a theme, security, SEO, and add-ons for Woo, you’re getting raked over the coals.

    Dreamweaver Pricing

    WordPress vs Dreamweaver Pricing

When choosing Dreamweaver as your website creation tool, the good news is that there aren’t many costs to worry about – at least if you plan to do the coding yourself. Of course, you’ll need to purchase a domain and web hosting, but you’ll also have to pay for the Dreamweaver software. The cost for Dreamweaver is roughly $22 per month before taxes.

However, if you want to access Adobe’s full suite of creative products, including Dreamweaver, the cost increases to around $55 per month. It makes sense for most people using Dreamweaver to opt for the entire Creative Cloud. This is especially true if you plan to create a more advanced website that requires photo-editing tools and a way to make scalable vector graphics (SVG) or animations.

WordPress is free, but you’ll need multiple add-ons, such as a domain, theme, plugins, and a theme.

Dreamweaver isn’t cheap after you pay for a domain, hosting and the software, but is on par with WordPress after add-ons.

WordPress vs Dreamweaver: Ease of Use

When building a website, selecting the right platform is critical, with ease of use being a key factor. While WordPress and Dreamweaver have a learning curve, WordPress distinguishes itself because of how easy it is to get up to speed.

    WordPress

Before WordPress came along, creating a website required extensive coding. But thanks to the folks at Automattic, regular people can now easily create them. With that said, the first time you log in to WordPress, you may need help figuring out where to start. Although there is a learning curve, there are plenty of resources available (like our blog) to provide tips and tricks to help users overcome any obstacles. Once you’re over the initial shock of the number of settings available, it’s easy to figure out what things do and where they are located.

    WordPress vs Dreamweaver dashboard

Another thing to consider is what type of site you intend to create. This will influence the types of plugins and themes you choose, which can add to the learning curve. Thankfully, some themes make WordPress easier to work with, regardless of the type of site you plan to build. For example, Divi is an excellent choice for beginners thanks to its no-code Visual Builder. You can design posts and pages on the front end to view design changes in real time. Having a visual representation of your site’s content as you add it makes life much easier.

    Gutenberg block editor

That said, it’s best to familiarize yourself with the default block editor before learning to work with themes and plugins. Since most WordPress content creation centers around posts and pages, learning how and where to build your content will go a long way when learning WordPress.

    Dreamweaver

    Dreamweaver setup screen

When you launch Dreamweaver for the first time, you’re met with an easy-to-follow setup screen. It walks you through display preferences and lets you choose to start with a sample file and watch a tutorial to help you get started. We highly recommend watching the tutorial video. It will help you set up the site manager – where you’ll configure your local hosting environment – and introduce you to the most commonly used tools. That said, that’s about all the help you’re going to get. After that, things are complicated if you are a stranger to coding.

    Dreamweaver templates

To make things easier on yourself, you can start with one of the sixteen available templates. Keep in mind that these are starter pages, not full-blown websites. You can start with a basic multi-column or grid layout, a handful of responsive pages, build an email, or choose from a few Bootstrap pages. Once you load your chosen template, you must code in images, text, and other elements to complete your page.

Overall, the learning curve for Dreamweaver is steep for beginners. If you have a basic knowledge of CSS, HTML, and Bootstrap, you can easily create a basic site, but it will take time. That said, if you are a coding guru who likes to get down deep into the coding weeds, Dreamweaver isn’t that difficult to master. It depends on your chosen coding language and level of comfort with learning a new platform.

    WordPress vs Dreamweaver: Customization

One of the most important considerations when choosing a new web platform is having the ability to make it exactly what you want and need. Both WordPress and Dreamweaver offer unlimited customization options. That said, they provide completely different ways of allowing you to do it.

    WordPress

    WordPress themes

Despite its origins as a blogging platform, WordPress has evolved into a dynamic content management system that can accommodate any website, thanks to its vast add-ons. Within the WordPress repository, you can find many themes, each offering a unique appearance for your website. These themes can be easily installed via the WordPress dashboard or the theme repository. Moreover, there are numerous premium themes available from third-party vendors, such as Elegant Themes, StudioPress, and ThemeIsle, that you can purchase to enhance the look and functionality of your website.

    best membership plugins

Additionally, thousands of plugins allow you to customize your site. For example, let’s say you’re looking to build a membership website. Adding a good membership plugin will quickly enable you to gate content, create membership tiers, take payments, and even add a forum for community discussion. There are awesome plugins for literally anything, making customization options with WordPress endless.

There are additional methods that allow you to add interesting bits to your website. For example, widgets can enhance your site’s appearance, as they can be placed in various locations, such as the sidebar, footer, or header. They can also display category archives, social media platforms, recent posts, and more. In addition, even though WordPress is designed to be user-friendly, you can take customization to the next level by adding custom CSS, HTML, and Javascript. Depending on the theme you select, you can create customized templates that will give your site a cohesive appearance throughout all your posts and pages, including those for displaying posts, search pages, archives, and more.

    Dreamweaver

Like WordPress, Dreamweaver has tons of customization options. It starts with the ability to create the perfect workspace. You can choose between light and dark modes, assign custom colors for code previews, and more. As previously mentioned, Dreamweaver offers three different workspace views, including code, split, and live. You can drag and drop pre-coded elements into your pages with the live view. That said, you’ll still need to add CSS, images, and code snippets to make them function correctly.

    WordPress vs Dreamweaver Bootstrap components

For example, when working with Bootstrap files, default components are available to bring your pages to life. You can choose from containers, carousels, card layouts, animated spinners, buttons, and more. Dreamweaver even includes the corresponding code snippets to give you a headstart on your CSS and Javascript. Additionally, there’s a front-end CSS designer that allows you to edit CSS for a particular property, which saves time.

    WordPress vs Dreamweaver customization

When working in the split view, you can easily click on an element in the front end and edit the CSS property in the associated CSS file. You can also duplicate elements, add text decoration to headlines, link images, and make elements responsive with a click of a tick box. Additional customization options include the ability to install third-party extensions such as image galleries, contact forms with reCaptcha, Google Maps, and more.

    WordPress vs Dreamweaver: Hosting

Hosting requirements for WordPress vs Dreamweaver are very different. Static websites (Dreamweaver) generally require less hosting than WordPress sites. With that in mind, here are a few options for each to give you an idea of what’s available.

    WordPress

    SiteGround WordPress hosting

There are a lot of variables when it comes to WordPress hosting. First, what kind of hosting do you want? Secondly, what’s your budget? As a WordPress user, you’ll likely be overwhelmed by all the choices. With that in mind, there are a few that we can highly recommend – SiteGround and Pressable. Both providers offer managed WordPress hosting, several price tiers, excellent features, and are optimized for WordPress.

    Dreamweaver

    Dreamweaver hosting

Hosting a site built with Dreamweaver is less complicated. Unless you build server-side applications such as CGI/Perl, ASP, or PHP, you’ll likely get away with low-end shared hosting. The reason for this is Dreamweaver’s basic functions use HTML, CSS, and Javascript, so they don’t require nearly as much power. With that in mind, there are a few that we can recommend that are geared towards client-side, static websites – A2 Hosting and Green Geeks. Both offer reasonable plans with ample NVMe SSD storage, automatic backups, FTP (a Dreamweaver requirement), free site migration, and a free SSL certificate.

WordPress vs Dreamweaver: Is There a Clear Winner?

When it’s time to choose between WordPress and Dreamweaver, both have their advantages. That said, the one you choose depends on your specific needs. WordPress is easy to use, has an extensive support system, and offers thousands of themes and plugins to customize your site. On the other hand, Dreamweaver is a powerful web development tool that allows you to create static websites, custom applications, and large complex sites.

  • WordPress vs Bootstrap (2023) — What You Need To Know

WordPress and Bootstrap are two popular methods of building websites. Although they share some similarities, such as responsive design and the ability to create visually stunning web pages, and are both free, they differ in approach. Bootstrap relies on only three programming languages: HTML, CSS, and javascript. In contrast, WordPress uses PHP, integrates CSS, HTML, and javascript, and requires a MySQL database. Deciding between the two for your web development needs depends on your goals and technical expertise. This post will compare WordPress vs Bootstrap to help you decide which platform suits your needs best.

WordPress vs Bootstrap: Who Are They For?

Although WordPress and Bootstrap are used to create responsive websites, each platform is tailored to a different audience.

    WordPress vs Boostrap

WordPress and Bootstrap are meant for different types of users when building websites. If you know HTML, CSS, and Javascript well, Bootstrap lets you create a website from scratch by writing code for every part of it. However, since Bootstrap relies heavily on coding, it’s not the easiest choice for people who don’t have experience in this area. But Bootstrap can still be a good option if you’re willing to learn. That said, there are ways to use Bootstrap in WordPress, should you decide to go that route.

    WordPress vs Bootstrap

On the other hand, WordPress is more user-friendly, which makes it an excellent choice for people who aren’t technically savvy. WordPress websites use themes that can be quickly installed, styled, and filled with content. Moreover, most themes either come with or allow page builder plugins to drag content blocks, images, and other design elements into a post or page. However, WordPress users will find that even though it’s not absolutely necessary, it’s good to know at least some basic CSS and some HTML codes in case they need to make changes that their chosen theme doesn’t support natively.

Overall, WordPress is a more suitable platform for beginners. At the same time, Bootstrap is better suited for web developers with coding knowledge who prefer to build websites from the ground up.

    WordPress vs Bootstrap: Pricing

Regarding pricing, it’s worth noting that both the core Bootstrap and WordPress platforms are free and open-source, making them accessible even for those with tight budgets. However, it’s important to remember that there are still associated costs if you want to expand the functionality of either platform.

    WordPress

As a multi-purpose platform, WordPress is hard to beat. You can create any site with it, make it look any way you like, and even easily create an online store. That said, the costs associated with WordPress can quickly add up. You’ll need a domain, hosting, a theme, plugins, and other things like email accounts, should your hosting provider not offer them. The costs of using WordPress can vary depending on the hosting type, theme, and plugins you choose.

Hosting options include shared, managed, dedicated, cloud, or VPS, with monthly prices ranging from a few to hundreds of dollars. For themes, you can choose from thousands of free options on the WordPress theme repository or invest in a premium one. Depending on your chosen theme, you can expect to pay anywhere from $40 to several hundred dollars annually for premium themes.

Additionally, plugins are essential for expanding your website’s functionality, but they can also be costly depending on your needs. For example, suppose you’re building a membership website. In that case, you may need a membership plugin like MemberPress, which costs around $180 annually. If you’re creating an ecommerce site, you can use WooCommerce. Still, extensions can potentially cost thousands of dollars when it’s all said and done.

    Bootstrap

One of the best features of Bootstrap is that it’s completely free, but as with anything free, there is a cost. In this case, the price is your time. As previously mentioned, Bootstrap uses HTML, CSS, and javascript. It utilizes a 12-column grid system designed to be responsive, making it an excellent platform for creating mobile-first websites. However, to build a beautiful, mobile-friendly website with Bootstrap, you must build it from scratch. No drag-and-drop builders, plugins, or themes will do the work for you. You will only spend a little as long as you’re okay with spending countless hours in the depths of inline CSS.

The only costs you will incur with Bootstrap are hosting and a domain. Fortunately, Bootstrap doesn’t require much to host, so you can generally get away with cheaper shared options like Bluehost, HostGator, or Hostinger. For domains, you can expect to pay less than $20 a year through top domain registrars.

    WordPress Bootstrap
Pricing While it is technically free, you’ll eventually need to pay for hosting, a theme, and plugins. Your costs depend on how much you’re willing to spend. 🥇 Winner

Costs associated with Bootstrap are far less, with hosting and a domain being the only necessities.

Get started with WordPress Get started with Bootstrap

WordPress vs Bootstrap: Ease of Use

Depending on your coding expertise and familiarity with a content management system (CMS) and its unique features, WordPress and Bootstrap can be challenging to learn. To help you choose the best platform for your needs, let’s explore which one is more user-friendly.

    WordPress

    WordPress Dashboard

Anyone who knows WordPress is aware that getting used to things takes a little time. Initially, the dashboard can be overwhelming, mainly when using multiple plugins. That said, since it is so widely used, there are plenty of places to learn WordPress. One of the best features of WordPress is the fact that you don’t need to know how to code. WordPress uses the Gutenberg editor out of the box, which is based on blocks and functions similarly to old word processors, allowing users to start typing right away. However, the block editor expands on this by adding over 40 blocks to build pages and posts.

    Gutenberg editor

You can also create templates with the editor, which allows you to build custom page designs for archives, 404, search results, and more.

    Bootstrap

    Bootstrap sample website

While the learning curve for Bootstrap is steeper compared to WordPress, it’s manageable. As mentioned earlier, you need to develop a basic understanding of coding to add content like posts and pages. However, even without prior experience with Bootstrap, we grasped it quickly, thanks to our knowledge of CSS and HTML. After reviewing the documentation and coding examples on Bootstrap’s website, we built a functional one-page website in just an hour or so.

    WordPress Bootstrap
    Ease of Use 🥇 Winner

Creating posts and pages with the Gutenberg editor is a breeze. However, deciphering the dashboard takes some getting used to.

Working with Bootstrap requires coding knowledge, so it may take a while for beginners to get up to speed.
Get started with WordPress Get started with Bootstrap

    WordPress vs Bootstrap: Customization

Both platforms let users fully customize their websites, giving them complete control over design and functionality. This high level of customization is a significant reason for their popularity. However, there are notable differences between the two that may impact your choice.

    WordPress

WordPress is one of the most highly customizable content management systems available. With unlimited themes and plugins, and the ability to add custom code, custom fields, additional post types, and any number of widgets, you can create the perfect website for your needs.

    Divi by Elegant Themes

WordPress offers thousands of free themes in the theme repository, along with countless premium options from professional developers like Elegant Themes, aThemes, and StudioPress. Most themes offer customization using the live WordPress customizer or proprietary theme options pages, allowing users to adjust colors, fonts, site width, and more. Some themes, such as Divi, have a Theme Builder that enables users to create custom templates for a fully customized look.

    Best WordPress plugins

WordPress plugins offer users a range of features to enhance their website’s functionality, such as SEO improvement, LMS integration, custom forms, security optimization, and more. Additionally, excellent plugins are available for almost anything you can imagine, making it one of WordPress’s best features.

Custom post types, widgets, and custom code are other tools to make your website unique. Plugins such as Toolset allow you to create specialized websites like real estate, membership, business, or directory sites using custom post types. WordPress widgets let you add elements to your website, such as recent posts, search bars, categories, tags, and social media platforms, which you can place in the header, footer, or sidebar. You can add custom CSS or HTML to customize design elements further or insert snippets for third-party integrations, such as Google Analytics or Pinterest tags.

    Bootstrap

Bootstrap is highly customizable, with every aspect being hand-coded, including reusable components, JavaScript code snippets, and CSS styles. This allows developers to modify Bootstrap’s framework and create a website that suits their needs without being limited by templates or themes. With a wide range of components to choose from, including headers, hero sections, modals, buttons, menus, and more, you can add elements to your site that can be easily adjusted with CSS to fit your website’s specific style.

    Bootstrap themes

For those who require a more structured approach, Bootstrap offers more than 80 themes that can be used as a starting point. While they aren’t free, they are reasonably priced compared to some WordPress themes. They offer a solid foundation for developers to build on, with pre-designed styles and components that can be customized easily.

    WordPress vs Bootstrap: Hosting

Both WordPress and Bootstrap require hosting to display a website. That said, each has a different set of requirements.

    WordPress

WordPress runs on PHP, so it needs a stable version installed on the server. In addition, WordPress requires a MySQL or MariaDB database to store all of your site’s content, including posts, pages, comments, and images. It also helps to use a web host optimized for WordPress, where the server is set up with specific parameters to make it fast, stable, and secure.

There are so many options for WordPress hosting that we’ve written plenty of posts about it. With several different types, including managed hosting, dedicated hosting, cloud hosting, and others, it’s essential to familiarize yourself with the different types before deciding.

    Bootstrap

On the other hand, Bootstrap is a more straightforward option that utilizes Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets (Sass), a preprocessor scripting language that generates CSS stylesheets. This enables Bootstrap to provide a modular and customizable architecture. As a result, hosting requirements for Bootstrap are less stringent, and you can often use a budget-friendly hosting provider, depending on the size of your website. However, it’s worth noting that better options are available that optimize their web servers to run Bootstrap websites more efficiently.

    A2 Hosting for Bootstrap

One of the better options is A2 Hosting, which offers several plans for Bootstrap ranging from $12-$25 per month. They offer turbo hosting, which is built using LiteSpeed servers. Additional features include a free SSL, one-click Bootstrap installs through Softaculous, and several server location options.

WordPress vs Bootstrap: Which One is Better?

Both WordPress and Bootstrap have a learning curve and offer plenty of customization options.

    WordPress Bootstrap
Pricing While it is technically free, you’ll eventually need to pay for hosting, a theme, and plugins. Your costs depend on how much you’re willing to spend. 🥇Winner

However, the choice between the two ultimately comes down to what you want to achieve with your website. WordPress is the better option if you’re looking to create a blog or an e-commerce website. On the other hand, if you’re interested in building a custom website and enjoy coding, Bootstrap may be more appropriate. Regardless of your choice, WordPress and Bootstrap are excellent options for creating a unique website.

As important as hosting, the theme you pick determines the look and feel of your site and is an essential part of creating a fast, reliable source of information for your potential customers. In this post, we’ll review our top picks for the best WordPress themes so you can determine which one is right for your business.

What Features Should the Best WordPress Themes Include?

When searching for the best WordPress theme for your website, there are several factors you should keep in mind. You should consider customization options, performance, compatibility with your favorite page builder, and the level of support you need. Additionally, you should choose a theme that fits the specific needs of your business. For example, if you have plans to create an online store, make sure that the theme you choose is compatible with ecommerce software such as WooCommerce.

    10 Best WordPress Themes

When researching the best WordPress themes, we considered several factors, including compatibility with popular plugins and customization options. Another thing that weighed heavily with us is how lightweight the theme is. • 8 Best WordPress VPS Hosting Companies in 2023

Choosing the perfect hosting for your website can be confusing, especially when there are so many hosting options to choose from. However, if you’re searching for a cost-effective alternative to dedicated hosting and a more robust solution than shared hosting, then Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting could be the perfect fit. To help you make the right decision for your business, we’ll showcase our top picks for the best VPS WordPress hosting providers so you can determine which one is right for you.

    Let’s get to it.

    What is VPS Hosting?

Although VPS hosting is built on servers that are shared with other customers, it is very different from shared hosting. With VPS hosting, you’ll get a section of a shared server, complete with dedicated resources allocated for your website(s). This typically results in faster loading times, more storage, and bandwidth, making it a more robust option compared to shared hosting. Additionally, VPS is usually more affordable than dedicated hosting, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a balance between performance and affordability.

The Best WordPress VPS Hosting Companies

When we set out to create our list of the best WordPress VPS hosting companies, we considered a few factors, including customer reviews, the number of features, the level of security provided, and overall cost. So, whether you’re looking for a reliable VPS hosting partner for a personal blog or business website, our list will give you the information you need to make an informed decision.

    1. DreamHost

    DreamHost VPS WordPress hosting

DreamHost, known for its cheap shared hosting and WordPress plans, also offers affordable options for managed VPS hosting that are worth considering. With four plans to choose from, any business can benefit. The VPS Basic plan, starting at just $15 per month, includes 1GB RAM, 30GB SSD storage, a free SSL certificate, unlimited emails, and unlimited traffic and websites. It’s an excellent option for smaller sites that don’t expect a lot of traffic, but with easy plan upgrades available, adding RAM and storage is just a click away. This simplified approach to scaling makes DreamHost an excellent choice for those just starting out with aspirations to grow in the future.

    Key Features for DreamHost:

One of the standout features of DreamHost’s VPS hosting is the all-inclusive onboard features. DreamHost has everything you need, unlike other VPS providers, where you might have to add multiple features for a secure and robust hosting experience. This means you can start creating websites within minutes of signing up.

DreamHost gives you a simple control panel to manage domains, monitor server resources, and quickly reboot the server. You’ll also get a dedicated IP address, automatic software updates for the operating system, WordPress, and PHP, unlimited SFTP users, and the ability to run numerous programming languages such as PHP, Perl, and Python. Plus, with the one-click application installer, WordPress can be installed quickly and easily.

    DreamHost is best for:

    • Small to medium-sized agencies who require managed VPS hosting.
    • Those who want to scale their business over time.

    2. Hostinger

    Hostinger WordPress VPS hosting

Up next on our list of best WordPress VPS hosting is Hostinger, another well-known hosting company known for its shared, WordPress, and cloud hosting offerings, and their VPS hosting plans are also worth considering. With eight plans, Hostinger’s VPS offerings start at an incredibly low price point of $8.99 per month. This entry-level plan includes 1GB RAM, 20GB of SSD storage, 1 TB of bandwidth, and a single-core CPU, making it an excellent option for smaller sites. However, upgrade to a more robust plan if you want to run multiple websites or need better performance.

Hostinger’s VPS 2 plan, priced at $12.99 monthly, offers 2 CPU cores, 2GB of RAM, 40GB of SSD storage, and 2 TB of bandwidth, which is still a great value for the price. So, if you’re looking for a more powerful setup, this plan is worth considering.

    Key Features for Hostinger:

With each VPS plan, Hostinger offers weekly backups, a dedicated IP address, full root access, IP4V & IPV6 support, and 24/7 customer support, all built on a 100mb/s network. There is also an AI-powered firewall that uses machine learning to analyze network traffic and block malicious activity instantly, providing enhanced security for your server. You can also choose from three different operating systems, including CentOS, Ubuntu, or Debian. Finally, Hostinger offers snapshots and backups so that you can restore your sites within minutes should problems arise.

It should be noted that Hostinger’s ability to offer such low-cost VPS hosting plans stems from their servers being unmanaged. This means you’ll be responsible for server, OS, and WordPress updates, setting up your firewall, and handling security patches. That said, Hostinger’s VPS offerings aren’t for everyone. You’ll save a lot of money if you possess the technical prowess to address these critical tasks. However, those that want to be able to install WordPress or other applications easily should look elsewhere.

    Hostinger is best for:

    • Those with the technical know-how to handle important updates and security issues.
    • Site owners looking for an affordable VPS hosting solution.

    3. IONOS

    IONOS VPS hosting

Our third-ranked WordPress VPS hosting provider is IONOS, which uses cloud-based servers to provide fast and reliable hosting at reasonable prices. All plans offer a choice of data center and boast a 99.9% uptime guarantee, unlimited traffic, and full virtualization. Each server is optimized for isolation, autonomy, and security. They offer standard, memory-optimized, and CPU-optimized plans starting at $2 per month, which can be automatically scaled up within their user-friendly control panel.

    Key Features for IONOS:

All virtual machines run on the SSD San storage system, which protects your data even if a storage node fails. Plus, bandwidth is handled through a 400 megabit-per-second external server connection, which makes data transfer lighting-fast. You’ll also receive 24/7 expert support, a free wildcard SSL certificate, server snapshots, distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack protection, and multiple operating system choices for Linux and Windows. As with other providers on our list, installing WordPress requires some technical knowledge unless you upgrade to the Plesk Obsidian for WordPress Toolkit at just $5 per month.

We suggest selecting the VPS M RAM plan to maximize your benefits from IONOS VPS hosting. This plan offers 2 CPUs, 6GB RAM, 80GB of SSD storage, and the Ubuntu 22.04 operating system. It costs $8 for the first six months, then $15 monthly. While you can include Plesk for $5 per month, DNS Pro for $1 per month, and backup and recovery through Acronis starting at $7 per month, you can add these features later.

    IONOS is best for:

    • Those comfortable installing WordPress through Plesk.
    • Developers who want ultimate control over their server setup.

    4. GoDaddy

    GoDaddy VPS hosting

GoDaddy is our next entry for the best WordPress VPS hosting providers. Like others on this list, GoDaddy is known for its cheap, shared, and managed WordPress plans. That said, their VPS hosting is worth taking a look at. They offer both self-managed and fully managed services, depending on your needs. The self-managed option starts at $7.99 per month but isn’t adequate for running cPanel, which is required to install WordPress the easy way. For that, you’ll need at least their 2 vCPU plan, which boasts 2 CPU cores, 4GB RAM, and 100GB of storage for $29.99 monthly. It comes with the ability to add cPanel or Plesk for an additional $16 per month. This is the setup you should start with for those wanting to install WordPress with one click.

    Key Features for GoDaddy:

GoDaddy has some notable features, such as on-demand snapshots, unlimited traffic, a 99.9% uptime guarantee, and full root access, which can be configured to meet your business needs. However, some features, such as integrated SSL certificates, malware scanning, alerts, or a web application firewall, still need to be added. These features are available as add-ons but come at an additional cost of $5.99 per month. Additionally, GoDaddy does not offer free migration, meaning that WordPress users will need to use a dedicated migration plugin to move sites from another hosting provider.

    GoDaddy is best for:

    • Those who want the ability to add features ala carte
    • Entry-level VPS consumers who are tech savvy
