    What Makes Divi AI Unique?

Using external third-party AI tools like Jasper, Chat-GPT, or Midjourney to generate content for your site can be difficult. It requires complex prompts and guesswork to ensure your content is specific to your website brand. Divi AI bridges the gap by giving you access to a powerful AI assistant that understands your existing content already. With Divi AI as your assistant, you can get the results you need quickly and easily. Some of its most unique features allow users to do the following:

    • Generate content for your website in the appropriate context. Divi AI analyzes and understands your existing website data so you can auto-generate content specific to your website brand. If your website is an interior design company, Divi will be able to generate images and text specific to your interior design company.
    • Make Suggestions for New Content. If you’re not sure what to write next or what image to add to a section of your page, Divi AI can help. Because Divi understands the content of your page, it can prompt itself and give you suggestions!
    • Accessible within the Visual Builder and Divi Modules. With Divi AI, you can generate AI content right inside Divi’s Visual Builder in real time. This allows you to generate AI text and images on the fly when designing your page, making it a more convenient solution than having to jump back and forth using other third-party AI tools.
    • Easy-to-use prompts and Quick Actions. Divi takes the grunt work out of prompting AI to generate content that actually fits your website. You can write detailed prompts or have Divi AI generate suggested prompts for you.
    • One-Click AI Content Generation for Divi websites. You don’t even need to prompt Divi AI to generate content for your website. You can choose to generate text or images automatically. You can even generate entire modules filled with content in one click.

How to Access Divi AI in the Divi Builder

Divi AI is already built-in to the Divi Builder. Once you are signed up for Divi AI, there is nothing for you to install or activate in order to enjoy the benefits of Divi AI. Currently, Divi AI can be accessed everywhere you can add text or images in the Divi Builder. That means Divi AI can be used on any Divi element (section, row, column, etc.) or Divi Module (text, image, blurb, etc.) that supports text input or image uploads. You can deploy the Divi AI generator by hovering over an input box and clicking on the Divi AI button that pops up in the top right of the input box.

Some modules will include an “Auto Generate Text with AI” button at the top of the module’s content options. This allows you to auto-generate all the text input areas available for a certain module (text, body, button, etc.).

For example, if you are using a blurb module, you can click “Auto Generate Text with AI” to generate content for the Title and Body area of the module with a single click.

Or you can choose to deploy the Divi AI text generator for each one by clicking the Divi AI button within each of the input areas individually.

Since this is a blurb module, you also have the ability to generate an image with Divi AI. Under the Image & Icon option group, hover over the image input box, and click the Divi AI options button. You will have the option to generate the image automatically or by using the Divi Image Generator Options modal.

Because Divi Builder structural elements (sections, rows, and columns) allow you to add background images, you can access the Divi AI image generator under the background image option tab.

What Divi AI Learns About Your Website to Generate Contextual Content

As mentioned already, Divi AI understands your website automatically. This allows it to generate on-brand results in context based on the existing data and content of your website. So, it is important to understand what information is needed to allow Divi AI to work its magic. In general, you can expect Divi AI to account for your website or company information (Website Title, Tagline) as well as page content and the content within modules.

Divi AI Evaluates Your Website Information from the Start

So let’s say you have a website with the title “Divi Interior Design,” and the tagline reads “Elegant Interior Design for Your Home or Business.” This information can be found by going to the WordPress Dashboard under Settings > General.

Then you can create a new page and deploy the Divi Builder.

To get an idea of what Divi AI already knows, all I have to do is create a text module and click the “Auto Generate Text with AI” button. This will create content specific to the context of your website information on the page. The content will likely include the title of your website and additional content based on the tagline (what your company does). This is perfect for kickstarting the copy of a home page.

And, if we use an image module to generate an image with Divi AI automatically, we get results of interior design photos that are consistent with my website info.

Of course, that is just the tip of the iceberg. As you build your website, Divi AI will have more information available to generate more contextual content in more specific instances.

Divi Evaluates Page Content to Generate Content for Entire Modules

Not only will Divi AI evaluate your basic website information, it will also analyze the content (and context) of your page, allowing you to generate even more on-brand results as you as you build. The more content you have and the more you use Divi AI on your pages, the better Divi AI will be able to generate accurate results.

For example, by the time you reach the end of your building your page, you will be able to generate the content for an entire Email Opt-in Module in a single click!

Now that we have a good idea of what Divi AI knows and what it can do, let’s go into a more detail on how you can use it on your website.

How to Use Divi AI for Images

Divi Image AI is based off of the Stable Diffusion model for generating AI images based on prompts. But what makes Divi AI special is that it is specifically built for Divi, giving you access to a powerful Divi AI assistant for generating image specifically for your website. The options for generating AI images are seamlessly integrated into the Divi builder, making it easier than ever to get the results you need.

How to Generate a New Image with Divi AI

You can generate new images with Divi AI using any Divi element or module that supports image content. For this example, we are going to use an image module. Once you add the image module to the page, hover over the image upload input box and click the Divi AI Options button. Once clicked, you can choose “Generate with AI” or “Generate Automatically.”

If you choose “Generate Automatically,” Divi AI will generate an image based on the context of your website information. For example, if your website is titled “Divi Family Dentistry,” Divi AI will generate images related to dentistry, like a picture of a dentist’s office.

For more targeted results, you’ll want to choose “Generate with AI.” This brings up the Divi AI image generator modal, where you can tell Divi AI exactly the kind of image you want. For starters, you can provide a simple text prompt in the Image Description like “a portrait of a female hygienist, blue scrubs, portrait lens.”

This should give you some great options to choose from. You can then select and use and image that you like. Plus, you can generate more images to find the one you want. Or, you can modify the image with built-in options to generate new results.

Understanding The Divi AI Image Generator Options

The Divi AI Image Generator Options include the following:

    • Image Style
    • Image Description
    • Reference Image (optional)
    • Aspect Ratio
    • Size

Using these options, you can create pretty much any image you can imagine with the power of Divi AI.

Here is a brief overview of each of the options at your disposal.

    Image Style

You can choose from 12 different image styles when generating your AI image. These include:

    • Photo (default)
    • Digital Painting
    • Concept Art
    • Vector Graphic
    • 3D Render
    • Drawing
    • Abstract Art
    • Comic Book
    • Water Color
    • Painting
    • Anime
    • Cartoon

This gives you a wide range of creative style options to create images for any type of design or website.

    Image Description

The image description is where you can add a text prompt that describes the image you want to create. The trick here is to be both concise and descriptive. Finding the right prompts may take a few tries to get the results you are looking for, but it can be fun to experiment with different prompts to achieve magical results.

    Reference Image

The reference image option allows you to upload an image that Divi AI can use as a style reference. So, if you like the overall feel and style of a certain image, you can upload the image as a reference and then use the image description to make a completely new image based on that reference image.

Furthermore, you can adjust how much you want the reference image to impact your description (and vice versa) by adjusting the Reference Image Influence dial.

The new results can be quite magical.

    Aspect Ratio

You can adjust the aspect ratio of your image by selecting one of the following options:

    • Square (1:1)
    • Landscape (8:5)
    • Portrait (3:4)
    • Custom Size

This is a convenient way to make sure your image will align with common dimensions used for web design and other custom layouts on your page. For example, if you are looking for a fullwidth image to use for a background, you may want to use “Landscape”, but if you are looking for an image for blurb module, you may want to use “square.” Choosing to use a custom size will allow you to designate the exact dimensions you want for an image. This is a powerful tool for web designers who want to find unique images with the exact dimensions and resolution they need.

    Size

Once you select an aspect ratio for your Divi AI image, you can use the size option to adjust or scale the image size while keeping the aspect ratio in place. Of course, if you choose Custom Size, you can adjust both the width and height options independently.

NOTE: If you are using a reference image, the dimensions of that image will be used when generating a new image with Divi AI.

Improving AI Images and Using Quick Actions

You can improve any existing image in Divi using Divi AI. In fact, some of the best results can come from improving images that you already generated by Divi AI. To improve an existing image with Divi AI, click the Divi AI options button when hovering over an image already loaded inside the Image Upload input box. This will bring up a drop down menu with additional options and quick actions including:

    • Generate with AI
    • Improve with AI
    • Generate and Replace (quick action)
    • Reimagine (quick action)
    • Change Style (quick action)

Choosing the Generate with AI option will allow you to start the AI image generation from scratch. But choosing the “Improve with AI” option will load the AI image generator module with the current image used as the reference image. This will allow you to make adjustments using the current image as a reference (as discussed previously). The “Generate and Replace” quick action option is basically another way to generate a new image automatically without using the current image as a reference.

Example Use Case: Using the Reimagine Quick Action to Improve an Image

One of the most useful quick action options for an existing image is the “Reimagine” option. This can transform regular images into magical works of art in a single click.

Here is an example use case of of combining the “Reimagine” quick option on an existing image and then improving it with a simple prompt with Divi AI.

First, choose the “Reimagine” option for the existing image Divi AI Options.

Then choose the best image from the suggestions given by Divi AI.

After that, choose “Improve With AI” for the new image.

And add a short description to add a minor change to the image. In this case, I’m using the description “with dark orange pillows”. Then click the generate button and choose your favorite result from the suggested images.

Now look at the new image that matches the color theme of current layout.

    The result is quite magical!

    • Added Context: Because Divi AI can evaluate your existing page content when generating new text, you can choose the level of additional context you want Divi AI use to create relevant content. If you want to supply Divi AI with the entire page content as context when generating text, you can select “This Page Content” for the Added Context option. You can also choose to supply Divi AI with context limited to the section content, the module content, or you can choose to supply Divi AI with no context.

  • WordPress SEO: The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide for 2023

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is crucial to the success of your website from the very start. Website owners often make the mistake of ignoring SEO until long after their site is launched. This often leads to frustrating and costly problems down the road. That’s why it is so important to start now! Despite the perceived difficulty of SEO, beginners can benefit from simple SEO tasks that, in time, could help their site rank #1. In this step-by-step guide to WordPress SEO, we will provide a step-by-step approach to equip your site to rank higher in search engines.

    What is SEO?

Millions of people use Search engines like Google daily to view the top results for their searches. SEO is the ongoing process of improving your website ranking in search results pages (SERPs). How high search engines rank your content is determined by various factors, including quality of content, keyword optimization, links, page speed, and more. SEO involves using simple and advanced techniques to address these factors to produce high-quality content relevant to users and easy for search engines to index. Of course, the ultimate goal of SEO is to get more organic traffic to your site, which can lead to many benefits.

How Do Search Engines Work (in Simple Terms)?

It is the job of search engines to serve the best relevant results for users. To determine what content is the best match for what a user types in a search bar, search engines like Google use bots that “crawl” websites for content and links to store and index that data in their database. When a search query is made, the data is analyzed to serve the most relevant content.

What are the Benefits of WordPress SEO?

You wouldn’t be reading this article if you weren’t already aware of at least some of the benefits of SEO. Here are a few of the most potent benefits of optimizing your WordPress site for search engines.

    • Increase Organic Traffic
    • Save money with less PPC Advertising
    • Increase leads and sales with higher conversion rates
    • Increase Brand Awareness/Authority
    • Get Featured Listings in the SERPs
    • Provide a better overall website for users

Investing in SEO for WordPress now is one of the most influential and cost-effective marketing tools that can pay off handsomely in the long run.

A Beginner’s Guide to WordPress SEO (Step by Step)

    1. Get Reliable Hosting

Choosing the right hosting provider is a critical factor in WordPress SEO mainly because it can affect website speed and performance. So taking the time to understand WordPress Hosting and the solutions available will be worth it in the long run. The main types of WordPress Hosting include

    • Shared WordPress Hosting – These provide the best cheap WordPress Hosting options.
    • Dedicated Hosting – Dedicated Hosting providers are best for large sites that need high performance and dedicated space.
    • VPS Hosting – VPS hosting providers are a good alternative to shared, offering better performance and security.
    • Cloud Hosting – Cloud hosting services provide more flexibility and scalability, so you can only pay for what you need.
    • Managed WordPress Hosting (recommended) – This is the best overall solution for most. It ensures great performance for WordPress at an affordable price. Here are our top choices.

Additional perks come with WordPress Managed Hosting providers that can help SEO. For example, with Siteground, you get a free SSL (more on this below), a Content Delivery Network (CDN), and other built-in site tools.

When looking for the right hosting platform, at minimum, you will want to ensure they support the current WordPress hosting requirements and the latest version of PHP. Ideally, using a free trial to test your site speed and performance metrics beforehand would be best. For best results, look for a fast host.

    2. Get an SSL & Use HTTPS

Modern browsers and Google no longer consider website URLs using HTTP or http:// (without the “S” at the end) to be secure. If you want your site URL to be protected, you need to use HTTPS (https://). This lets Google and your users know that your URL (or browser link) uses a secure (encrypted) server to share information. To use HTTPS in your URL, you’ll need to use an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) or its more secure version, TLS (Transport Layer Security).

    SSL Manager in SiteGround

An SSL certificate is often provided for free with your hosting provider, and you can also get a free SSL using a plugin or other third-party service like Cloudflare.

For more, check out our Ultimate Guide to HTTPS and SSL for WordPress.

    3. Choose an SEO-Friendly WordPress Theme

When choosing a theme for your WordPress site, it is vital to choose one that is SEO-friendly. Ideally, you will want a WordPress theme that is fast and lightweight. But, with the rising popularity of page builders, you will likely need to find a balance between speed and design options. Even robust page builders, like Divi, have taken strides to maximize performance by eliminating unnecessary bloat.

In addition to speed, look for themes that use proper SEO headings, have clean code, are responsive, and are updated regularly.  Themes like GeneratePress will have these features built in. Also, make sure that your theme works seamlessly with popular SEO plugins that will take care of your technical SEO needs (including structured data and Schema markup).

To help you get started, here’s our list of top SEO WordPress themes.

    4. Allow Search Engines to Index Your Website

Don’t make the mistake of skipping this small step before launching your WordPress Website. Simply navigate to Settings > Reading. Next to the option Search Engine Visibility, there is a check box that reads, “Discourage search engines from indexing this site.” Make sure this box is unchecked. If not, you are asking Google to ignore you.

Discourage Search Visibility - WordPress Reading Settings

Note: It may be beneficial or recommended to keep the search engines from indexing the site during development so that Google doesn’t start indexing poor or inconsistent content before it is ready.

    5. Choose WWW or non-WWW

When you first install WordPress and go through the setup process, you can pick the preferred format of your website address or URL. In addition to “https://,” you can choose whether or not to include “www” in the URL.

To see what format your site is using, you can find it in your WordPress dashboard under Settings > General.

WordPress Settings General Website WWW URL

Both WWW and non-WWW versions are acceptable. Although some argue that there may be a slight edge in favor of using www over non-www, most SEO experts agree that you can use either format as long as you keep it consistent throughout your site. Google will treat www.yoursite.com and yoursite.com as separate URLs, resulting in duplicate content that may negatively affect your SEO.

In short, pick one and stick with it. For more, check out our guide on WWW vs. non-WWW versions for SEO.

Note: Do not change this if you already have a live site. This applies only to brand-new sites in development. Changing the format on an existing site will hurt your SEO.

    6. Set SEO-Friendly Permalinks & Slugs

In WordPress, permalinks refer to the URL structure of your site. Setting your permalinks to the “Post Name” format is common practice for WordPress SEO. This structure provides search engines and users with more text that describes the content of your page or post. For example, if you are writing a post on “WordPress SEO,” it is better to have “wordpress-seo” in your URL instead of a number like “?p=123”, especially if you are trying to rank for that keyword/phrase.

To change your permalink setting, go to your dashboard under Settings > Permalinks. Then select Post Name.

    WordPress Permalink Settings

With this structure in place, you can change your permalink slug when editing your page or post in WordPress to include your keyword phrase for better on-page SEO.

Permalinks, as the name suggests, should be considered permanent. That means you should never change the permalink settings on your live site or the permalink of a page or post. This will result in broken links and hurt your SEO. If you must change a permalink, use a proper 301 redirect.

You can learn more in our posts on how permalinks affect SEO and how to configure WordPress permalink settings.

    7. Use Categories & Tags for SEO

Categories and tags are the default taxonomies in WordPress that allow you to organize posts and pages. Using them properly can positively affect user experience, allowing users to sort and filter content to find what they need within a particular topic. In general, it is best to use categories for large groups of content under a broad topic (like “WordPress,” “Business,” “Design,” etc.). Posts or pages should be kept to 1 category to avoid possible SEO drawbacks like duplicate content or unnecessary web crawling. Tags can be helpful for users to find more specific topics. You can add multiple tags to a post as long you use them purposefully and consistently.

The most significant impact that taxonomies can have on SEO is how search engines see them. Unless you have a good reason to do otherwise, we suggest you not include categories or tags in your permalinks. This makes it much easier to manage permalinks in the future and avoid possible cases of duplicate content or broken links when adding or changing categories.

You can change this setting easily using an SEO plugin like Yoast or Rank Math.

Yoast Remove Category from WordPress URL

For more, check out our best practices for using categories and tags for SEO.

    8. Choose Your WordPress SEO Plugin

Once you have the basic WordPress SEO structure in place, it’s time to look into a quality SEO plugin. This is by far the easiest and most effective way to take your WordPress site’s SEO to the next level. Popular SEO plugins (like Rank Math or Yoast SEO) will include most of the features, tools, and flexibility you need. These plugins can help optimize your entire website. We recommend RankMath because of its powerful SEO features, tremendous community support, and seamless integration with popular WordPress themes. With its easy-to-use interface, you can use Rank Math to optimize your on-page SEO on the front or back end.

Here is a list of our best SEO plugins for WordPress, with all the features you need to boost your rankings.

    9. Submit an XML Sitemap

An XML sitemap is an XML file on your website that provides a structured map of all of the pages and posts throughout your site. Unlike HTML sitemaps that may help with user experience and navigation, XML Sitemaps can be submitted directly to search engines. Once submitted, search engines will have an accurate map of your site so they can more effectively read and index your content. In WordPress, you can submit your sitemap to Google directly or use a sitemap plugin.

SEO plugins like Yoast and RankMath will have a built-in feature to generate your XML sitemap.

    10. Use Keyword Research to Plan Content

Keywords are the terms or phrases users enter to search for content within a browser or search engine. These keywords should be a driving force that determines what content you should create. Keyword research helps you determine what keywords people are currently searching so you can find the right ones to target when planning your content. 11. Write High-Quality SEO Content

There really is no way around this one. High-quality content is still the most essential aspect of your SEO strategy. Whether you are writing blog posts or sales copywriting, your goal is to create content that outperforms your competition and meets the needs of your visitors. You can start by following these key steps to writing quality SEO content.

Use AI SEO Tools and Plugins for Better SEO Content

With the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), many AI SEO tools are becoming more mainstream. Some of the best AI SEO tools are now using AI to help with the entire SEO content creation process. AI writing software like Jasper AI can help you generate content in seconds using simple text prompts, and SurferSEO can optimize your content for search engines. Or you can use both with an integration.

WordPress also has AI plugins that will help streamline the writing process and optimize your content for SEO.

Check out our list of the best AI writing tools to help you write high-quality with more speed and efficiency.

    12. Optimize Your Post or Page Content for SEO

Writing high-quality content is only half the battle of WordPress SEO. You will also need to optimize your content for SEO. This involves several on-page SEO tasks, including optimizing HTML structure, keywords, syntax, readability, schema markup, internal/external links, images, etc. This may sound like a lot, but your SEO plugin can help streamline this process. RankMath will allow you to optimize these elements in real time while writing your post. And you can use its AI-generated suggestions based on your content to improve your SEO score for each page or post.

    WordPress SEO Using Rank Math

For example, you can start by entering your target keyword or keyphrase to let RankMath know what you are trying to rank for. (IMPORTANT: Don’t use the same focus keyphrase on any other page or post. Only use it once because you don’t want to compete against yourself for that key phrase.)

Here are a few more key suggestions to optimize our page or post:

    • Make sure your page title includes the keyphrase and the permalink slug includes your focus keyphrase.
    • Organize your heading tags properly and include your keyphrase in headings and subheadings when appropriate.
    • Add the focus keyphrase and other related or semantic keywords strategically throughout your page content.
    • Use the plugin’s SEO widget to ensure your content gets a passing score for readability and SEO.
    • Consider your word count compared with other top-ranking articles for the same keyword.
    • Add a meta description for SERPs that is concise, enticing, and includes your focus keyword.
    • Add schema markup to get featured/rich snippets in the SERPs with a plugin like Schema Pro.

For more, here is a detailed checklist for on-page SEO.

    13. Optimize Images for WordPress SEO

Images can have a big impact on your SEO. However, it probably has more potential to harm your ranking than it does to improve it. Here are a few tips to help optimize your images for SEO:

    • Compress and Resize – Large image files can drastically slow down your website. This will turn visitors away and hurt your SEO ranking. Try to keep all images below 100kb. You’ll need to balance quality and size using lossless compression with free tools like tinypng.com or an image optimization plugin.
    • Use the correct file types – Webp is the best format for the web these days for the best performance. Some plugins like EWWW Image Optimizer can convert your images to Webp for you. But you can also use JPG and PNG for good results. Avoid large file types like GIFs.
    • Add Lazy Loading to Images for faster page loads.
    • Add Image Alt Text – The Alt text describes the image on your site in text form. Not only does it help with accessibility and screenreaders, but it can also allow you to add helpful keywords for better overall SEO.

For more, check out these best practices for optimizing images for SEO and the top plugins you can use.

    14. Optimize Links for WordPress SEO

Links are essential for SEO in a lot of ways. The two types of links that you can include on your website are internal links (links to other pages on your site) and external links (links to pages on a different site). The other important link type is called backlinks (or inbound links) which are links to your site from other websites. Earning quality backlinks involves a link-building strategy that is more difficult to achieve because it involves convincing other websites to link to your content. All three are important for SEO. You can learn more from our SEO Links Beginner’s Guide. But for this post, we will give you a few tips on using the two types you have more control over – internal and external links.

    Use Internal Links

Understanding how internal links help SEO is important. Here are a few tips to get you started:

    • Ensure you add internal links to content that is relevant to the subject matter. Users and search engines will recognize when an internal link is forced or doesn’t make sense in the context.
    • Use various (different) internal links. Don’t keep sending the user to the same few pages.
    • Use proper HTML link structure.
    • Use keyword-rich anchor text. Avoid using less informative text like “click here” or “learn more” to make links more optimized for users and search engines.

Use “NoFollow” and “Follow” External Links

When adding external links to your post, you can choose to have that link “followed” or “not followed” by search engines. By default, all external links in WordPress will be followed. Search engines will crawl the link to help both parties rank higher. But sometimes, using “nofollow” links is beneficial to avoid negative SEO results. For example, WordPress may add the “nofollow” tag to comment links to prevent search engines from crawling spam links or other links that could harm your domain authority. They are useful for linking to sites you don’t fully trust or want to endorse. You’ll also want to use “nofollow” links when using affiliate links or if you’re receiving payment from people clicking the link.

To create a “nofollow” link in WordPress, you can add the rel=”nofollow” tag to the HTML as follows:

    <a href=”https://elegantthemes.com” rel=”nofollow”>anchor text</a>

For more, check out our guide on how to use nofollow and follow links.

Use a Plugin to Add Links for SEO (The Easy Way)

Managing your internal and external links can get overwhelming, especially for beginners or larger websites. Rank Math will give you some help options for how links operate on your site.

    Rank Math Link SEO Settings

But if you need more help, using a plugin like LinkWhisper can automate the process of adding, removing, and optimizing links throughout your site. With LinkWhisper, you can add links in WordPress automatically based on your keywords and monitor them easily. This is the best way to ensure you get the most SEO link juice possible from your links sitewide.

    15. Avoid Creating Duplicate Content

Duplicate content is the same (or very similar) content that can be found in multiple locations or URLs. This can often happen through the misuse of permalinks, using HTTP and HTTPS, pagination, or URL variations (like tracking code parameters). Having the same content on two different URLs can sometimes lead to Google crawling multiple versions of the same content. This can lead to each variation competing against each other in the ranks or the wrong version being indexed. Check out our guide to duplicate content and SEO for more details.

You can easily check your website for duplicate content by looking up your indexed pages in Google Console or by searching your site pages in Google (i.e., “site:elegantthemes.com”).

Google Search - # of Pages - Duplicate Content

The number of pages should match the number of pages you created in WordPress. If not, you may have duplicate content that needs to be fixed.

    Use Canonical URLs and Redirects

One way to avoid duplicate content is to use canonical URLs on your website. A canonical URL is defined by a link tag in the HTML of your header with the rel=”canonical” tag. It looks like something like this:

This suggests to search engines that this is the main URL for this content. That way, if the same content is found on a different URL, Google will know which one to index. You can add a canonical URL to any page in WordPress using an SEO plugin.

Set Page Canonical URL Rank Math
In addition to canonical URLs, you can 301 redirects to avoid duplicate content and keyword cannibalization. For example, if you change the permalink of a blog article, you will want to make sure and add a 301 permanent redirect to the new URL to avoid losing all of the organic traffic and ranking earned for that post.

For more, check out our list of the best Redirect Plugins for WordPress.

    16. Optimize Speed and Performance for WordPress SEO

Optimizing your website for speed and performance is essential for SEO. So, understanding how page speed affects SEO is a must for beginners. Search engines like Google use several core web vitals and metrics to determine how well your site performs, which can significantly impact your rankings. The easiest way to check your website’s speed and performance metrics is to use a free online tool like GTMetrics or Google’s PageSpeed Insights. These tools will give you an overall score and a list of improvements that can be made to improve your score.

WordPress SEO Speed and Performance Tips

Here are some best practices to improve the speed and performance of your WordPress website:

    • Get fast hosting – Using a Fast WordPress hosting provider can take seconds off your page load times without doing anything else.
    • Use reliable WordPress themes and plugins – Some WordPress themes and plugins will perform better and load faster than others. You must use a theme that performs well out of the box and integrates well with other popular WordPress plugins. Even robust themes and page builders like Divi have built-in speed optimation to give you a head start.
    • Use a content delivery network (CDN) – A CDN provides a cached version of your website at various servers throughout the world for faster load times. You can use CloudFlare to add a CDN to your site manually or use a plugin. Some hosting providers, like Siteground, will provide a free CDN solution.
    • Use Site CachingSite caching drastically improves site speed by saving a static version of your website pages for faster delivery. You can add caching to your site easily with a WordPress cache plugin.
    • Keep Your Database Clean – Keep your database clean and optimized for the best performance. WP-Optimize is a top database plugin for speed optimization.
    • Minify Your Site FilesMinification makes your site files smaller (taking out blank spaces), reducing the time it takes to load a page. For better performance, you can use a minification plugin like Autoptimize to minify your  CSS, HTML, and Javascript files.
    • Optimize for Mobile – How well your website performs on mobile devices sp perhaps more important than how it performs on desktop. Ensure your website is responsive and optimized for speed on mobile as well. For more, see our ultimate guide to mobile SEO.

    Speed and Performance Plugins

This may seem a bit overwhelming. However, the right plugin can do a lot of this for you. • WordPress vs Webflow (2023) — Which is Better for Your Website?

WordPress and Webflow are two of the most popular platforms for creating simple or complex websites. What makes them so popular is that you don’t need to be an experienced developer or programmer to use them. In this post, we’ll dive into the differences between WordPress vs Webflow and give a thorough comparison of each regarding ease of use, pricing, extendibility, security, and more. Hopefully, this guide will help you make the right decision for your next website.

    Quick Overview: WordPress vs Webflow

    What is WordPress?

    wordpress dot org

WordPress is by far the most popular Content Management System (CMS) for building websites used by over 43% of all websites worldwide. It is free and open source which has helped it grow rapidly over the years due to its large following and support from users, developers, and companies that build WordPress themes, plugins, and other products. For this post, when we talk about WordPress, we are referring to the .org version rather than WordPress.com. WordPress.com is actually more similar to Webflow in that it is a hosted web platform. WordPress.org on the other hand is self-hosted which means you’ll need to take care of hosting it yourself. But because WordPress.org is by far the most powerful of the two, we think it is a more worthy competitor to Webflow.

Compared to Webflow, WordPress will require more work to set everything up because you have full control over the process. For instance, you’ll need to get a domain registrar, a hosting platform, and all the necessary themes and plugins to complete your WordPress website.

    What is Webflow?

    Webflow website

Webflow is an all-in-one software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for building and hosting your website. Like other website builders, Webflow can be a viable alternative to WordPress because of how quick and easy it is to get a website up and running. All of the features are built-in which means you don’t have to worry about finding a host or installing extra plugins for things like SEO, security, eCommerce, etc. Like WordPress, Webflow offers a CMS site option if you want to blog or create content, but this isn’t necessary for simple sites.

Like other website builders, one of the biggest draws of Webflow is the ability to design your site visually without code. With WordPress, you’ll need a page builder like Divi to rival (or even outshine) the built-in design capabilities of Webflow.

WordPress vs. Webflow: Who Are They For?

WordPress is ideal for those who want complete control over their website’s functionality and design. It’s particularly well-suited for those who have experience with web development.  And while coding isn’t necessary it can help you mold your site. WordPress Posts and Pages are the focus of the CMS platform, emphasizing a focus on content creation.

Alternatively, Webflow is designed for those who want a more straightforward and streamlined way to create a professional-looking website. With Webflow, you won’t need to rely on a developer or graphic designer to get a custom design for your site that is modern. You can use pre-made templates and a drag-and-drop visual design interface to create beautiful, responsive websites quickly. But if you are serious about content creation and want a professional blog, you may find WordPress to be the better option.

Overall, if you’re looking for complete control and flexibility, WordPress is the way to go. However, if you want a simpler, code-free solution that still allows for customization, Webflow is worth considering.

    WordPress vs. Webflow: Pricing

When it comes to choosing a website builder, pricing is always an important factor. In this section, we will compare the pricing models of WordPress and Webflow.

    The Real Price of WordPress

While WordPress is known as free, open-source software that you can download, install, host, and manage yourself, it comes with recurring costs that can add up quickly. These expenses include web hosts (like SiteGround or Cloudways), domain name registration, as well as theme and plugin licenses, and memberships.

The expenses mentioned above can differ depending on the website. For instance, licenses for themes and plugins could be reoccurring charges or lifetime memberships for a one-time charge, like at Elegant Themes.

You might pay anywhere between $5-$9 per month for hosting (or managed hosting,) $10 per year for a domain, and $29.99 once for a theme. But all the prices can vary.

One thing is for sure; you will be paying some money to run your website. In total, it is possible to operate a basic WordPress website for just $50-$75 annually. However, a bigger spender could spend $100-$350 per year. This considers the need for some premium themes and plugins, as well as potential upgrades to web hosting.

    Webflow Pricing

Webflow, on the other hand, offers a variety of pricing plans to choose from. The site plans are categorized under General and E-commerce.

    General Plans

Webflow’s pricing plans are tiered based on the features and capabilities they offer. The higher-tier plans come with more advanced features. Here is a quick breakdown of their general site plans:

    • Starter (Free) – includes a webflow.io domain and up to 50 CMS items so it is really only enough to test it out.
    • Basic ($18/m) – includes a custom domain but has no CMS for blogging so it is ideal for building a simple site.
    • CMS ($29/m) –  includes the CMS with up to 2,000 CMS items (or records) you can store in the database and up to 3 content editors which is good for small blogs.
    • Business ($49) – The Business plan gives up to 10,000 CMS storage items, 10 content editors, and 2,5000 monthly form subscribers, but you’ll need to upgrade to Enterprise if you want even more.
    • Enterprise – this plan is for those who need more storage bandwidth but you’ll need to call them to settle on a price.

    webflow pricing plans

    E-Commerce Site Plans

If you want an eCommerce site, they offer three plans:

    • Standard ($42/m) – includes all CMS plan features and up to 500 eCommerce items (or products) so it is best for new businesses.
    • Plus ($84/m) – includes all Business plan features and up to 5000 eCommerce items for higher volume businesses.
    • Advanced ($235/m) – adds up to 15,000 eCommerce items for large businesses.

It’s important to note that, unlike WordPress, Webflow includes hosting as part of its pricing plans. So, you don’t have to worry about paying for hosting separately.

    WordPress Webflow
    Pricing 🥇 Winner

WordPress can be as extensive or inexpensive as you want.

In general, Webflow is more expensive than WordPress, especially for larger websites and businesses.
    Choose WordPress Choose Webflow

    WordPress vs. Webflow: Ease-of-Use

When it comes to building a website, it’s important to have a platform that is easy to use. But you also don’t want to avoid a platform just because it has more of a learning curve. The key is to find the right balance. Let’s see how WordPress and Webflow stack up.

    WordPress: Ease-of-Use

WordPress has a relatively steep learning curve compared Webflow, especially with the setup process which includes:

However, once you get all the pieces in place, WordPress is a powerful tool for creating almost any type of website.

The great thing about WordPress is that it can be as simple or complex as you want it to be. Making a post for a simple blog, for example, is really straightforward. Simply select Add New under the post option on the main dashboard. Here you have access to the block editor.

    wordpress block editor

From here, you easily create and edit pages, posts, and media.

That being said, WordPress is not the most user-friendly platform for beginners. While it is possible to easily create a simple website, users might need more technical knowledge to make the customizations they want. Plus, WordPress has way more options and settings to configure. This is great for those wanting more flexibility and functionality but can be overwhelming for beginners.

    Webflow: Ease-of-Use

Webflow definitely has less of a learning curve than WordPress, especially with the setup process. And the visual site builder is beginner-friendly and intuitive and includes more design options than the basic block editor of WordPress. You can create a site with a drag-and-drop visual builder without any coding knowledge.

It also comes fresh out of the box with useful tutorials and a handful of free templates to choose from.

    Webflow drag and drop editor

However, there is still a learning curve with Webflow, especially for users who have never used a website builder before. Like any new software, users may find it difficult to find the customization options or features they are looking for, especially when it comes to adding more complex website elements. You may find the dashboard to be a little hard to navigate initially, but you should get the hang of it eventually. Those familiar with Figma will find it has a familiar feel.

    WebFlow Navigator

Overall, though, Webflow’s ease of use and design tools make it a great option for building a site. While it may not have as many features and customization options as WordPress, it is a great choice for those who want to create a professional-looking website without additional plugins.

    WordPress Webflow
Ease of Use WordPress does take a bit of time to get used too, but a beginner can start a blog in just a matter of minutes. 🥇 Winner
Overall, Webflow is designed to be user-friendly, and once you understand the UI, it’s easy to navigate.
    Choose WordPress Choose Webflow

    WordPress vs. Webflow: Customization

When choosing your first website platform, it’s difficult to foresee all the features you might need down the road. That’s why customization and flexibility are important factors to consider when choosing a website platform. Both WordPress and Webflow offer a range of customization options, but they differ in their approach.

    WordPress Customization

WordPress is almost limitless when it comes to customization and flexibility. The WordPress ecosystem has all the tools, resources, and people you need to create any design and functionality you want.

In terms of design customization and extendibility, WordPress will win over most website builder platforms, including Webflow. The WordPress theme repository has thousands of free themes for your website. And that doesn’t the premium themes and page builders that can take design customization to new heights.

    WordPress themes vs Webflow

In addition to themes, WordPress has 50,000+ free plugins you can use to extend the functionality of your site in countless ways. in its plugin. You can add forms, social media integration, eCommerce functionality, email marketing, and so much more with free and premium plugins. Here is our collection of the best plugins for WordPress.

Plus, for those who have coding skills, you can really make WordPress your own by extending and modifying existing themes with simple CSS tweaks or more advanced PHP coding.

    WordPress coding vs Webflow

Overall, WordPress offers unparalleled customization options, making it an excellent choice for those looking to create a truly unique website.

    Webflow Customization

    WebFlow templates: WordPress vs Webflow

Webflow provides a variety of templates (free and paid) that will help jumpstart the website creation process. However, changing templates in Webflow is not as easy as changing a theme in WordPress. If you want to use a different template, you must create a new project and choose another one. That means you will have to manually migrate data over (or copy and paste elements) to a site on another Workspace if you want to start with a new template. Luckily, modifying those templates with new designs and content is pretty straightforward.

    wordpress vs webflow visual builder

Webflow offers 20+ design elements (or blocks) you can use to customize your site using their visual builder. These include everything from simple text headings to Lottie animation elements. You can even create “components” which operate much like global block styling in WordPress so that you can update all instances of a block of content at once.

    WordPress Webflow
    Customization 🥇 Winner

WordPress is top of the line when it comes to customization.

Webflow has a lot of customization options available, but not as much as WordPress.
    Choose WordPress Choose Webflow

    WordPress vs. Webflow: Security

Every website is vulnerable to security risks no matter what platform they are on, including sites built with WordPress and Webflow. The trick is finding the platform that can offer the level of protection that is right for you.

    WordPress Security

WordPress is a very popular open-source software that is free to the public. So it goes without saying that it has security vulnerabilities that need to be addressed. Because each WordPress site depends on other third-party themes, plugins, and hosting providers, you’ll need to take additional security measures to make sure everything is secure. And the more complex your site becomes, the more open you are to vulnerabilities. This may all sound scary, but the truth is that you can have more security with a WordPress site than you can with other hosted site builders. WordPress has a huge number of developers constantly working to make WordPress more secure. And you can use security plugins and other services to make your site as secure as you want.

    Jetpack plugin

These plugins can help with tasks such as monitoring activity, automated backups, scanning for malware, securing login pages, and much more.

But unfortunately, because it remains so popular, WordPress will continue to be a target for hackers, so you better take security seriously.

    Webflow Security

Webflow is primarily hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) which is an industry leader in secure web hosting. And Webflow has taken many additional measures to secure how they handle information, customer data, payment processing, and more. They use strong encryption throughout Webflow to protect data from unauthorized access. In short, Webflow takes security seriously and will do a great job of keeping your website safe from hackers and cyber attacks. And the best part is that you don’t have to do anything. All that security is built-in into Webflow. The downside is that you don’t really have control over your website security and are completely dependent on Webflow.

Ultimately, the winner between WordPress and Webflow depends on your specific needs and preferences. If you value a wide range of customization options and are a bit more tech-savvy, WordPress may be the better choice for you. If you prefer a user-friendly visual design interface and built-in features, Webflow might be the right fit.

  • 25 Tips for Running a Successful Online Sale with Divi

Running a successful online sale can be one of the best ways to boost revenue and get more customers for your business. Using Divi makes the process much easier by providing a powerful platform (and ecosystem) for building your online store from top to bottom, including hundreds of tools at your fingertips to optimize your sale for huge returns.

In this article, we’ll be sharing some effective, time-tested tips you (or any company) can use to run a successful online sale with Divi.

If you don’t have a Divi membership yet, you’re in luck. Right now is the best time all year to join our community. We’re currently running our Cyber Monday Sale through December 12th. Which means for a limited time you can get 25% off Divi and Divi Account Upgrades, 44% off Divi Cloud and Divi Teams, and up to 60% off on Divi Marketplace Bundles.

Once your toolbox is full, you’ll be more than ready to follow these 25 Tips for running a successful online sale with Divi.

    1. Start Planning Far in Advance

The first step to any well run sale is planning. If you’ve never done one before, it may surprise you just how much work goes into it. But don’t worry, we’re here to point you in the right direction.

In many cases, creating an online sale that is simple and effective tends to yield a much higher return than trying to force marketing tactics or tools that really don’t line up with your skillset or goals. Just because it can be done, doesn’t mean it should. In general, stick to the methods that you are confident will work to meet your goals. You can always make improvements for your next sale.

If you are just starting out, there’s no shame in using the same techniques that other similar companies in your niche have found to be successful. Our big tip here is to write it all down and create a production schedule for everything your sale entails. Then, reverse engineer a timeline to get everything done ahead of time. This can’t be done at the last minute. To do it right you’ll need to start as far in advance of your target date as reasonably possible.

    2. Determine Essential Sale Details

There are a few essential details you’ll need to work out before you can do everything else:

    • Determine when the sale will begin and how long it will run. Many people and companies run sales in sync with the seasons of the year or with holidays. Such as a “Summer Sale” or a “Black Friday Sale” which takes place immediately after the United States’ Thanksgiving Holiday each year.
    • Determine what will be on sale and how far it will be discounted. This is likely going to look different for everyone depending on their specific business. However, if you want to grab folks’ attention you’ll want to choose products with a large margin and mark them down as low as you can afford to. Discounts of 50% and above are really eye-catching. This is where digital products with nearly no overhead per unit can really shine!

    3. Identify Technical Tasks and Challenges

These are not easily recognized at the beginning of the process. They reveal themselves as you start working on your sale. As your vision begins to take shape, you’ll want to keep a running list of anything you need to design, write, code, or build in order to pull it off. The time and resources required to do all these things will determine how soon you need to begin production work.

Here are a few examples (but far from a complete list):

    • Sale landing page – Divi comes with over 2,000 page layouts, hundreds of which are professionally designed landing pages. And our community has thousands more landing pages available in the Divi Marketplace!
    • Countdown timer section – For this you can of course use Divi’s own countdown timer module. However, if you want even more advanced countdown features you can once again explore the amazing variety of countdown extensions our community has created.
    • Top bar call to action – With Divi’s theme builder and built-in sticky options you can easily create a top bar call to action. Add dynamic content, conditional display rules, and more.
    • Expanding footer call to action – This too is easily doable all with out of the box Divi features!
    • Sale graphics for blog posts, emails, and social media – On our blog we release layout packs weekly. When we do, we give away free design assets like images and illustrations. All of which are free to use for anything.
    • Ads for Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and more – While this isn’t an area Divi directly helps with, you can again use any of our free design assets for whatever you want.
    • Sale assets for affiliate marketers – Same idea as the other graphics/assets points above.

    4. Design Your Sales Funnel from Start to Finish

Featured Image via vectorpouch / shutterstock.com

A sales funnel represents the purchasing path someone takes to get from your “top of funnel” content (such as ads or social media) to your sales page and then past the point of conversion. A sales funnel should be optimized to make buying your product(s) as easy, streamlined, and exciting as possible.

Most sales funnels will need at least the following pages:

    • Landing Page (or Sales Page)
    • Cart Page – with upsells
    • Checkout Page
    • Upsell/downsell page (optional)
    • Thank You Page – with upsells

With Divi, you can design all the pages needed for your sales funnel (or choose from hundreds of premade layouts). And you can use a funnel plugin like CartFlows to help streamline the process.

    Landing Page

The landing page (or sales page) is a critical step in the sales funnel. It is your chance to wow your visitors with your amazing deals and get them to click that buy button. Divi has hundreds of premade landing page layouts included in the library you can choose from. Or take advantage of our Cyber Monday Sale and get a pack of exclusive landing page layouts optimized for conversion.

And of course there’s plenty of community designed layouts in the Divi Marketplace. You can add these to your site in just a few clicks. We’ll have more to say about your landing page below.

    Cart Page

Normally, in WooCommerce, visitors will visit the cart page before heading over to the Checkout Page. In some cases this isn’t an ideal user experience since it adds a seemingly unnecessary step in many cases. This is a good opportunity to include a mini cart in your header or sidebar so that users can see their cart item in real time and go straight to the checkout page.

However, if you are going to take full advantage of the cart page, you will definitely want to include upsells. Upsells are related products that the customer may want to add to their cart. It is a great opportunity to sell more products to customers already vested in your products.

Here is an example of a Cart Page from one the layouts included in WooCommerce Layouts for Divi. Notice the upsells featured in the right sidebar under “You may also like…”.

    Checkout Page

The Checkout Page is the next sales funnel page that can easily be designed using Divi’s Theme Builder and WooCommerce Modules. It is important to think carefully about the elements you include on this page.

You may want to include some testimonials to help close the deal on the checkout page. Since this is the page that most people will probably leave (maybe they’re having second thoughts), this is also a great opportunity to add a popup on exit intent that gives them a coupon code that might push them over the edge.

Also, it is always a good idea to have a follow up plan in place for those that abandon their carts like an automated email that reminds them to come back to their cart. Or you can have a custom popup that shows up whenever they come back to the site that includes a discount if they purchase now. Divi has built-in condition options to show or hide elements based on if a user visits a cart page but hasn’t made a purchase. And there’s products like Hide & Show Pro in the Marketplace that extend these features to give you even more control over conditional content.

Here is an example of a Checkout Page from one of our exclusive Cyber Monday Theme Builder Packs:

    Upsell/Downsell Page

The Upsell/Downsell Page is an important step in the funnel. This is the page that users are redirected to after completing a purchase. An Upsell Page doesn’t have to have a lot of content. It just needs to feature another deal they may be interested in. For example, if a customer just purchased a basic level membership, you could offer a lifetime membership at a big discount on the upsell page.

Building an Upsell or Downsell page in Divi is extremely easy since you would only need an image/video, a block of text, and a couple of buttons. If the customer decides to take the upsells, you should make this process seamless so that the customer doesn’t have to go through the entire checkout process again. If the customer refuses the upsell, you could have it redirect to the thank you page.

    Thank You Page

The Thank You Page is the final step in the sales funnel. But don’t miss out on an opportunity to include more upsells or downsells on that page as well. Remember, they already like your products, so these are already qualified customers you are selling to. In fact, in many cases, you thank you page can be your main upsell page.

Here is an example thank you page with an upsell to upgrade their membership at a discount.

For more, check out this Free Guide Funnel Layout Pack that includes a landing page layout for a free-offer email opt-in and a thank you page with upsells.

    5. Create a Content Production Plan

With every sale, there comes a lot of content. The content you produce needs to go through several phases, so the earlier you begin, the better. The first phase of setting up your content plan focuses on the discovery phase. Content is going to be your way of telling your audience about the sale, so you’ll want to make sure the message is as clear as possible. It’s not about bulk, but about quality. Here are some questions you can ask yourself before starting to plan your content:

    1. What is the main message of my sale?
    2. What’s the main CTA of my sale?
    3. Who am I targeting?
    4. How does each piece of content feed into or progress visitors through my sales funnel?

These are all questions that you most likely want answered before you start creating your content. That way, you’ll know exactly what purpose each piece of content will serve.

Once you have a clear view on your sale and how your content relates to it, you can start planning your content and begin the production. You’ll want to create a harmonized strategy across all the content formats you’re using:

    • Blog posts
    • Emails
    • Social posts
    • Ads
    • And (potentially) more

    6. Prepare Your Site for Traffic

For any online sale to be successful, your site needs to be optimized for performance and speed. After all, you are hopefully going to be getting a massive increase in traffic. And the last thing you want to do is have a slow loading sales page or checkout page. Or, even worse, your whole site could crash because of a bad hosting environment. We offer Divi optimized hosting through our select hosting partners. While you’ll still need to make sure your plan fits the traffic you’re expecting, you can at the very least start with a hosting provider that’s meant to provide top of the line performance for Divi websites. We’ve also created a great resource for speeding up your Divi website from all angles.

    7. Involve Your Community

It’s always a good idea to involve your community. It’s the digital equivalent of word-of-mouth marketing. People relate to people, so involving your community in your sale will spark interest. They are your audience, and the earlier you involve them the sooner your target audience becomes aware of the sale you’re planning.

There are different ways to involve your community. Here are a few ideas:

    • Conduct a survey, either formally or informally via simple conversations, on what they’d like out of a sale. Which products they’re most interested in and why. Any insights you can gain here on what will move the needle during your sale will be helpful.
    • Incentivize community participation in your sale. This can be done with a special discount, gift, or other perk just for your existing community.
    • Incentivize sharing the sale outside your existing community. This can be done with a giveaway, contest, or something similar.

    8. Form Partnerships

One of the best ways to make your sale better is by using partnerships to boost your offering’s value. A good example is a bundle of similar products for the price of one. It’s a win-win-win type of situation that will:

    1. Help you boost sales
    2. Help your partners boost sales
    3. Help your audience get more value out of their purchase(s)

Partnerships make your sale stronger. People want to get the most value for their money, so the better your offer, the more organically you’ll see your sales grow. There are different types of partnerships you can create, but you’ll want to make sure that the products added by them are supplementary to your core sale.

    9. Mobilize Your Affiliates

Affiliates are also a great way to involve your community in your sale. Affiliates make a percentage on every purchase they send your way, so it’s only logical that you’d want to inform your affiliates of the sale in advance. That way, they can use this additional incentive in their own marketing strategies.

    10. Sponsor Content from Influencers

Featured Image via venimo / shutterstock.com

Similar to affiliates, sponsored content allows you to reach an extended audience through content channels owned and operated by others. Even on a small scale this technique can be very effective. People with a platform that’s part of your target audience have built a certain connection with their audience, and are more likely to participate in a sale if the information is coming directly from someone they follow.

    11. Conduct a Giveaway

Giveaways are a great way to involve your community and encourage them to share your sale with others. You’re giving them the chance to win something, while also benefiting from the requirements to enter the giveaway–such as sharing your sale on social media, subscribing to your newsletter, opting into a browser notification, and many other potential sale boosting actions.

    12. Create a Sale Specific Landing Page

No sale is complete without a proper landing page. And to be clear, this should be a different, unique landing page, than your normal one.

When building your landing page with Divi, you don’t have to start from scratch. We have a ton of premade landing page layouts that can serve as the base of your landing page. Or you can search through our Divi Marketplace to find even more sale specific landing pages, like this one.

A good combination of the three above, and of course a good sales offer, is what makes a landing page effective. There are some widely-used tactics you can use. Let’s go over them.

    A/B Testing

The effectiveness of your landing page is measurable through A/B testing. Numbers don’t lie. If Landing Page A is getting a higher conversion rate than Landing Page B, that means the UX, copy and design are doing a better job on Landing Page A.

Divi Leads is a part of Divi and allows you to effortlessly do split testing on your landing page. It lets you change anything you want and have data at your disposal as soon as it is available.

    Social Proof Through Testimonials

Social proof is another important part of your landing page, both design and UX wise. People tend to relate to people more than anything else. That’s why testimonials are so effective and can be a great addition to your landing page.

Divi has a built-in Testimonial Module that you can use, but there’s also a very good Divi extension called Divi Testimonial Extended on the Divi Marketplace. This extension provides you with over 20 testimonial layouts + slider & grid view!

    Countdown Timer for Urgency

One of the things that makes a sale so compelling is the time restriction applied to it. Whatever deal you’re offering, it’s only for a limited time. So why not highlight that? You can use a countdown timer to add urgency to your landing page.

We have a built-in Divi Countdown Module, but there’s also a great Divi extension, called Divi Timer Pro, on the Divi Marketplace that allows you to further customize the countdown on your landing page.

    Engaging Product Images

Another effective way to draw visitor’s attention to your products is through high quality, enhanced product images. Enhancements like image magnification, animated SVGs, hotspots, before and after sliders, and much more.

    Pricing Table Toggles

Create a Content Toggle for Pricing Tables on your sales page for an optimal user experience. Divi Flash includes a content toggle module that is perfect for creating pricing tables with customizable toggle buttons including 5 built-in toggle types and designs, animations, badges, and more.

    13. Provide as Many Payment Gateways as Possible

When running an online sale, it’s important to give users multiple payment gateways to choose from when completing their order. But you also have to consider the quality of the payment gateways beforehand to make sure the transfers are efficient and secure. Since Divi works seamlessly with WooCommerce, here are some of the best payment gateways for WooCommerce.

And it is always a good idea to help build trust with customers by highlighting those payment solutions on the checkout page. Customers who easily recognize a safe payment option they’ve used before will be more likely to proceed with the purchase.

    14. Optimize Your Ecommerce Features

In general, eCommerce sites are more difficult to create because it requires much more customization, both on the back end and the front end. Thankfully Divi does a lot of the heavy lifting for. It’s compatible with WooCommerce out of the box and gives you complete control over the design of WooCommerce page layouts, including templates and dynamic content elements–no code needed. But, in some cases, it just makes sense to use a Divi eCommerce Child Theme that has all of the features you need already built-in. Or if you need to add more WooCommerce Modules, layouts, or designs, there are many products in the marketplace that have everything you need and more.

Woo Essential comes with tons of WooCommerce layouts, templates, and unique modules to help design all the important eCommerce pages (like Shop, Cart, Checkout, Product, and more).Standout features include WooCommerce wishlist functionality, quick view product information popups, product comparisons, mini cart, and advanced filterable product grids.

WooCommerce Extended also includes some powerful tools for optimizing your eComnmerce features. Use it to add an ajax product search bar for a better UX, a mini cart popup icon, advanced product displays, product carousels, and more. It even includes a nifty tab manager extension to add and customize new tabs to the WooCommerce product information tabs.

    15. Optimize Your Ecommerce SEO

SEO and marketing go hand in hand. So you never want to ignore SEO when creating web content for your online sale. Ranking high in the SERPs is the most powerful free marketing you are going to get for an online store. But you can’t wait to launch a sale to start optimizing your site for SEO.

There is a lot of competition out there so having an SEO strategy in place will set you up to rank higher in the long term so you don’t have to spend so much on paid advertising and endure sleepless nights worrying about your Cost Per Click campaigns.

For optimal results, we would start using advanced SEO techniques and optimizing your WooCommerce SEO. Using a Divi-friendly SEO plugin like Rank Math or Yoast will help with all of the on-page SEO needs for your online store content. And, if you really want to look good in the search results (and make Google like you), you can use the Divi Schema Plugin to optimize your sale and product pages with schema markup for content like FAQs.

    16. Create Site-wide Sale Notifications and CTAs

The Divi Theme Builder makes it easier than ever to deploy dynamic content site-wide, like a sale notification bar, pop ups, custom headers, page templates, footers, you name it.

For site-wide email optins, simply use Divi’s email optin module that allows you customize email optin displays in creative and effective ways to get users into your email campaigns as a part of your sales funnel strategy.

If you are looking to create even more customizable promotional popups, the Divi Overlays plugin can handle that and so much more. If you are looking for some beautiful CTA layouts, our layout packs are full of CTA designs and, with Divi Layouts Extended, you can get 25 CTA layouts and 600+ additional layouts to help design your most important pages. Plus, you can save all of these layouts and more in your Divi Cloud to deploy them anywhere with a few clicks.

    17. Create a Mega Menu for Showcasing Sale Content

A website’s header is a great place to put some promotional content. It’s something that follows the visitors throughout their entire stay on your website, and people interact with it often. To help drive more traffic to your sale’s landing page, consider building a mega menu for your header, and dedicating a column to your sale. You can use the Divi Mega Pro extension or DiviMenus to expand the menu possibilities you have in Divi. Mega menus tend to have a lot more space than regular menus. This provides you with the opportunity to design a sales banner or other CTA.

    18. Create an Expanding Footer CTA

While not absolutely necessary, this is something we’ve done and it’s an easy way to increase user engagement and conversions. With Divi you can use premade footer layout designs on your templates to get a stunning footer design that can easily be optimized with one or more CTAs related to your online sale. You can get over 175 footer designs if you buy the Footers Pack for Divi (which happens to be on sale at the time of this writing).

    19. Create a Special Post Template for Sale Related Blog Posts

Divi gives you complete control over the design of your blog post template–which is the default design of your individual blog posts. This allows you to add additional sale-related content to your posts in creative ways. For example, you could create a sticky promotional CTA that floats in the sidebar as the user scrolls through the content.

    20. Use Position Options to Create Floating Banners

Putting banners on your website is a great way to divert traffic from one part of your website to another. You can use the position options to create a floating effect as well, so you can choose where exactly the banner shows up in your design. Here’s a tutorial on how to create a floating banner, and you can even go as far as setting time restrictions on your banner, as demonstrated in this tutorial.

    21. Optimize Social Sharing Options

During your online sale, you won’t want to miss out on the opportunity of having your visitors do some marketing for you by sharing your sale with their friends on social media. You’ll want to have a powerful, easy-to-use social sharing plugin like Monarch or Divi Social Sharing Buttons. These plugins will allow you to apply site-wide social sharing buttons (for all the popular social networks) throughout your store and product pages. You can even customize the content being shared for more targeted marketing to promote your sale.

    22. Use Conditional Options to Hide/Show Sale Content Based on Visitor Activity (or even Site Language)

With Divi’s built-in conditional display options, not only can you control what sale content to display, but you can also choose when and under what conditions the content is visible to users. For example, you can show bonus discounts and products only for purchasers or members, show promotion popups only to new visitors, and much more. Plus, the Hide & Show Pro plugin takes conditional display to a whole new level with tons of powerful features. It even integrates with popular multilingual plugins, like WPML, to display sales copy in different translations based on the user’s selected language. This allows you to target potential customers on a global scale.

    23. Build Mailing Lists with the Email Optin Module

In addition to site-wide email optin popups, you can also add email optins on your sales pages or product pages using the email optin module. When creating the email optin CTA, it is a good idea to offer something enticing in exchange for their email address (like a coupon code for 20% off, free shipping, or even a free gift). The email optin module integrates with 20+ email marketing platforms so you can start growing your list and adding them to your sales funnel.

    24. Optimize Everything for Mobile

Let’s face it. People like to shop and buy stuff on their phones. So, if you want your online sale to succeed, you will have to think mobile first when it comes to designing your sales pages and product pages. The obvious reason is for a better user experience that will lead to more sales. You don’t want broken and unreadable content or popups getting in the way of a potential conversion.

Use Divi’s responsive options to make sure your store is easy to navigate, read, and purchase products. The ultimate Divi Responsive Helper is a perfect solution for optimizing your online store for mobile including the ability to customize the column layouts of WooCommerce Product modules. And don’t forget about the importance of mobile SEO. Having a responsive site with great content optimized for search engines is even more important on mobile these days.

    25. Set Your Marketing Campaign in Motion Before the Sale Starts

In order to get the most out of all your other efforts, make sure to begin promoting your sale days if not weeks before it starts. By the time your sale begins your community and marketing audience should be enthusiastic and ready to buy. You’ll also want to make sure your community, partners, and affiliates have time to learn about your sale and spread the word.

    In Conclusion

A lot goes into running a sale, but a successful sale is worth the effort. Planning in advance is definitely key to making all the other components work. Plus, the more sales you plan, the better you’ll get at it. We hope this post will help you set up your next online sale, and do not hesitate to leave us any question you might have in the comments section below!
