  • From Studies to Breakthroughs: How to Excel in Studies and Unlock Your Full Potential With Hostinger?

Lifelong learning is essential to succeed and achieve goals. Here at Hostinger, we take this very seriously. Our Learn and Be Curious principle and learning routines go beyond recommended book lists, ongoing training, and unlimited educational platforms.

Many of our colleagues were, are, or will be studying at university and working simultaneously. Few of them shared their insights about this journey and what made this experience invaluable.

    Development Culture

In a rapidly changing world, keeping up with news and technologies is essential to remain competitive. Constant growth can improve your personal life – boosting your confidence, self-esteem, and well-being. As for your professional life, it empowers you to challenge yourself, find innovative solutions, and reach your full potential

Hostinger offers opportunities and tools for all employees to improve, scale, and make a bigger impact. Employees can develop various skills and competencies through internal training, such as the Managers Academy, Customer Success Leadership Academy, and workshops. So far, more than 130 employees have experienced the CoachHub coaching program’s benefits and have had over 1,200 sessions.

At Hostinger, you also get the recommended reading list on your first day. You can access the virtual or office library and order your needed books. Moreover, everyone can use external sources, such as Reforge, Scribd, Udemy, or BitDegree, to gain knowledge and new skills. Hostinger provides opportunities for employees to learn as much as possible from external providers, encouraging them to attend conferences, training sessions, or consultations.

Although a dynamic work environment sometimes can make learning look like a luxury, Hostinger employees have exceptional opportunities to make it a part of everyday work. From dedicating an hour or two to taking the whole Learning day – Hostinger provides enough time to read, learn, or attend studies.

Educational Leave is eligible for students working at Hostinger. They can get a few days off when they have tests, exams, or dissertation completion and defense. A few of our colleagues shared their experiences balancing full-time work and study and how the Hostinger culture enables them to manage this challenge.

    Provides a Unique Advantage

Mantas Lukauskas, Data Scientist at Hostinger, has quite a diverse study experience – he graduated with honors in Material Science, Economic studies, and Big Business Data Analytics. Now, he is a fourth-year Ph.D. Informatics student. He says the motivation to work and study simultaneously was born from a desire to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on experience. Mantas Lukauskas shares that his roles in academia and industry offered a distinctive perspective that has allowed him to participate in numerous conferences and publish a scientific article in a Web of Science journal.

Mantas Lukauskas, Data Scientist at Hostinger

“Doing both equips me with a unique advantage – opening doors to real-world applications of my theoretical knowledge. Conversely, we have many complex real-world projects and practical AI applications at work. This allows me to return fresh and practical knowledge to academia and improve research quality. Sometimes you can feel that you have more knowledge than the professor in the specific field”, shares Mantas Lukauskas.

He said balancing full-time work at Hostinger and pursuing his studies have offered significant challenges. Still, he has handled both effectively with proper time management and prioritization. He adds that Hostinger makes it possible to strike this balance due to the company’s open, supportive environment and flexible work arrangements. “The company supports and promotes personal growth and career development, making it a conducive place for combining work with academic pursuits,” adds Mantas Lukauskas.

    Collaboration and Flexibility Is Key

GintarÄ— GudaitytÄ—, Lawyer at Hostinger, joined the company as a fourth-year student at Vilnius University Faculty of Law because of her passion for solving difficult riddles and desire to see how things work in practice.

“Working and studying simultaneously, I gained a lot of skills and strengths. First of all, it gave me work experience in the law field. I have also mastered time management and using my free time better. Moreover, I got an opportunity to network and explore the organizational background – connecting with different specialists and working in a corporation introduced valuable professional insights on how complex companies operate”, says GintarÄ— GudaitytÄ—.

    GintarÄ— GudaitytÄ—, Lawyer at Hostinger

She remembers that fitting all the responsibilities and social life together was challenging. GintarÄ— GudaitytÄ— managed to keep balance in both fields because of a few important things Hostinger offers:

    • Collaborative team and manager’s care – working within a cooperative team enables one to share tasks and receive support. Besides, it helps to gain many insights from the manager on how to set realistic goals, avoid burnout, set priorities, and manage time.
    • Flexibility – flexible hours and remote work help save time since it isn’t necessary to travel between the university and the workplace. Also, there is a lot of freedom to plan your time, so you don’t need to miss lectures.
    • Motivation and stress management – positive feedback from teammates boosts confidence and inspires you to do your best at work and studies. Moreover, work-life balance initiatives, such as seminars and workshops, can help to reduce stress and enhance well-being.

    Win-Win Situation

Tautvydas Korkuzas, Customer Experience Specialist at Hostinger, started his career here during his third year of IT Bachelor’s studies. Later, he shifted to a Customer Experience Research position at work, which allowed him to connect his skills and interests. On top of that, Tautvydas Korkuzas chose International Business Studies for his Master’s for more theoretical knowledge about business development.

“Studying at university is about theory, so you need to do something with your new skills in practice to improve. This understanding was my main drive at the beginning. This dual challenge helps to master time planning, improve accountability, challenge your inner motivation to have things done, and allow you to learn more and faster,” shares Tautvydas.

Tautvydas Korkuzas says that Hostinger values learning. As he highlights, dedicated time for learning is more than just an option. It is usually an expectation from every employee. He says there is always someone studying at Hostinger, so you always sync with them on how things are going and collaborate when needed.

“One of the life hacks that helped me was doing similar projects at university and work. As for my Bachelor’s final project, I did it specifically for Hostinger. A tool I created for our customers is being used today! As for the Master’s, I analyzed our customers’ behavior and looked at how to improve customer experience drastically. The research helped to identify things that we do well and allowed us to learn new practices,” shares Tautvydas Korkuzas.

    Step Out of Comfort Zone

All colleagues who shared their experiences agree that this dual journey can be challenging and force you out of your comfort zone, but it is equally rewarding. Mainly, they advise not to overlook time management, a positive mindset, and self-discipline while juggling work and study.

However, it’s not just personal effort that counts, but also the opportunities the company offers. Hostinger provides opportunities for everyone to gain knowledge and skills through various offerings and support. Combining those things can help you navigate this journey skilfully and reach your full potential.

If you’re eager to learn and work simultaneously, we invite you to explore our career opportunities, where we offer the perfect blend of both.

  • Unveiling the Hostinger Sustainability Report: Journey Towards Gender Balance

In the era of corporate social responsibility and sustainability, we’re proud to take the lead and contribute to a more sustainable future. The first Hostinger Sustainability Report is out, showing our current state and journey toward sustainable development and commitments.

Why Is a Sustainability Report Needed?

We are eager to embrace sustainable practices and contribute more consistently in that direction, starting with our Sustainability Report. It outlines where we currently stand and how far we’ve come, identifies areas that need more attention, and reflects our plan to address them.

The Sustainability Report provides a broad set of information about the company that helps consumers make informed decisions. As for the company, it enables us to meet the growing expectations of our stakeholders, increases transparency, opens doors to new opportunities, and helps to attract and maintain talent.

Among various aspects of sustainability, one prominent thread in this report is gender balance, underlining our dedication to fostering an equitable workplace.

    Diversity and Inclusion

According to the latest data, only 18.9% of people working in the ICT sector in Europe are women. Meanwhile, we’re proud to say women make up 43.9% of our team, keeping us at the forefront of our industry. Let’s look at how it was achieved and what positive results it’s bringing to our company and its people.

Many researchers agree that a diverse employee base allows companies to achieve better results. To empower our team members for success, we’re cultivating a diverse work environment where equal opportunities are accessible to all, regardless of location, gender, or cultural background. Currently, we have team members across 45 countries and counting.

RÅ«ta GrigaliÅ«naitÄ—, Sustainability Manager at Hostinger, explains that diversity at the company level is tracked in several ways:

    • Recruitment type
    • Employment country
    • Age
    • Leadership position
    • Seniority
    • Salary distribution

Progress on inclusion and equal opportunities is also monitored through periodic internal evaluations and staff surveys.

“With monitoring, we aim to analyze the current situation and assess what action plans might be relevant to improve it. The latest available data shows that women hold 26.5% of executive, senior-level, and management positions in S&P 500 companies. According to our newest data, 56.4% of men and 43.6% of women are in management positions. We are happy to surpass the market standard and that our management positions reflect our overall staff pool,” shares GrigaliÅ«naitÄ—.

Rūta Grigaliūnaitė, Sustainabiity Manager at Hostinger.

    What Means Are Used?

According to Grigaliūnaitė, the management of equal opportunities is constantly strengthened, and there are several means to do that:

    • Equal Rights Policy – defines the principles, establishes monitoring procedures, provides measures for preventing violations, sets guidelines for investigating them, and outlines the consequences.
    • Open-Door Policy – encourages communication and feedback. Furthermore, regular staff surveys and meetings allow employees to voice their thoughts and concerns.
    • Whistleblower channel – prevents unethical and unfair behavior in the company. It allows all employees and third parties to share information about serious and unlawful wrongdoing.

According to GrigaliÅ«naite, the company also acknowledges the importance of compensation and career opportunities in creating workplace equality. As the pay gap between women and men remains high in the IT field, our aim is to change this.

“Comprehensive Salary Philosophy guides all managers in evaluating their direct reports’ salaries based on various factors. Like how an employee’s behavior is aligned with 10 principles, the contribution the employee makes, and the professional competencies they have mastered”, explains she.

    Going Beyond the Industry Average

Rūta Katilauskaitė, CS People Partner at Hostinger, says that the most important part is eliminating the idea that women are inferior to men and focusing the conversation on people’s capabilities and cultural fit. She assures that Hostinger has a healthy gender balance in the organization, which exceeds the norm of our industry.

“Two examples come to mind: the Bar Raiser Initiative, which helps to ensure candidates are evaluated through a non-biased opinion. And the Performance Evaluation Form, where the team members are evaluated through our principles instead of personal assessment.

Every team member should believe in equality, act immediately when equality is not factored into the decision-making process, and go the extra mile where possible. If we want to be ambassadors of diversity in the future, we need more public conversations about these topics,” identifies KatilauskaitÄ—.

RÅ«ta recently participated in the Diversity Talks panel discussion, where she proudly shared her insights, as well as personal and professional challenges that gender biases create.

Rūta Katiliauskaitė participating in Diversity Talks panel discussion.

    Just the Beginning

Both GrigaliÅ«naitÄ— and KatilauskaitÄ— see many advantages in achieving gender equality, as it not only ensures the well-being of employees but also helps the company thrive in a competitive environment and achieve great results. This allows to harness the talents and perspectives of all employees, which encourages learning and innovation, enhances problem-solving skills, and creates a more dynamic working environment.

The Sustainability Report has given us valuable insights into our current state and progress toward sustainable development. It is essential to acknowledge that the journey toward sustainability and gender balance is an ongoing and evolving process that needs to be maintained and accelerated. As we move forward, may this step be an encouragement to keep taking action and setting an example in the industry.

  • Reaching New Heights: Hostinger Client Base Surpasses 2 Million Worldwide

Hostinger reached a significant milestone in July – we officially surpassed two million active subscriptions. This achievement marks a significant step forward and sets the stage for even more ambitious goals. Join us as we celebrate this journey of growth, innovation, and global impact. Take a look at how we reached this milestone and what it means for our future.

    Pushing the Boundaries

It took 17 years to reach our first million customers and less than three years to reach our second. As our CEO Arnas Stuopelis says, this is only possible by having clients who trust us with their online projects and through the continuous efforts of our talented team.

“This figure shows that our customers value our services to help them start and succeed online, whether that’s through eCommerce shops, blogs, or websites showcasing their talents or services. With a team dedicated to delivering top results, we have pushed boundaries and unlocked new opportunities,” Arnas confirms.

To celebrate the two million milestone, we organized a special Hostinger lotto to thank our team and especially our customers. Employees worldwide were invited to participate for a chance to win prizes specially curated from our clients’ products. Supporting our customers is a privilege, as it is their trust and online projects that make this achievement possible.

    Meeting Customer Needs

Customer Obsession is the key principle that underpins every decision and drives us to achieve such milestones. We have Client Interviews and Customer Connection initiatives to get to know our customers better, learn about their challenges, and strategize on how to better meet their needs. To ensure that these are met, we talk to our clients daily.

Our Chief Customer Officer, Darius Grigorjevas, assures that our Customer Success specialists not only solve problems but they establish and build an emphatic relationship with customers. This is an exceptional advantage of Hostinger, which also perfectly reflects our company mission – to make online projects faster and customers happier 24/7.

“We aim to respond quickly and help our customers as much as possible so they can be successful online. Our ultimate goal is to provide the best possible technical solutions in no time, which is why we are unlocking the potential of AI with our new AI Assistant. We are ready to keep going and create even more value for our customers,” says Darius.

    Worldwide Possibilities

We have crossed borders and connected with clients from every corner of the globe, as our customers reside in more than 150 countries. This widespread reach has allowed us to gain insights into diverse markets, cultures, and customer preferences.

The largest number of customers is recorded in India, with over 366 thousand active users. Brazil, the USA, Indonesia, and France are also among our biggest markets in the first half of 2023. This is closely followed by the United Kingdom, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and Spain – making up the top ten.

Our customers often choose hosting or domain registration and management services. However, the increment in demand for website development tools drives strong customer growth. This area continues to have significant growth potential, especially with IoT possibilities.

    Continuing the Journey

By prioritizing personalized experiences and delivering cutting-edge technologies, we have earned the trust and loyalty of our clients. Reaching the milestone of two million customers worldwide is a testament to Hostinger’s dedication, exceptional products, and commitment to clients

This achievement motivates us to keep pushing boundaries and further expand our global presence. The journey to two million customers worldwide was just the beginning, and we are excited about what lies ahead!

  • From Across the Globe to Lithuania: Hostinger Employees Gather for the Summerfest Celebration

The annual Hostinger Summerfest has just taken place. More than 300 people gathered in Trakai, the city of lakes, for this year’s celebration.

This year, we invited Hostinger team members to embark on a Journey of Growth, symbolizing our collective progress and achievements. Hostinger employees from all over the world came to celebrate: there were people from Brazil, Indonesia, India, Lithuania, and other European countries.

Akmenos Villas & Bungalow, the venue for the event, was turned into a magical place with people dressed in white, covered in glitter and golden tattoos. Our clients were part of the celebration, with Virtuvės Būrelis taking care of the food and Urban bartenders mixing the cocktails.

    Unforgettable Challenges and Experiences

A spectacular celebration demands a grand opening. After Vilnius Gospel Choir’s outstanding performance of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now, “Hostinger co-CEO Daugirdas Jankus made a speech full of gratitude and inspirational words.

Leadership and teamwork were tested with the Epic Raft Race challenge. Teams built boats and rafts and competed against one another. While a number of the makeshift floatables successfully reached the finish line, the others, unfortunately, found themselves sinking beneath the waves. In addition, there was an enormous inflatable unicorn and plenty of standup paddleboarding boards in the lake that day.

Later, everyone could find an activity to suit them: leap onto an inflatable trampoline, participate in leatherworking workshops, take DJ lessons, and even walk on glass and nails. Healthy lifestyle practitioner Alanas Dzeranovas was there, too, and he’d brought an ice bath with him. He was teaching breathing exercises and guiding Hostingerians who dared to enter the icy waters of the bath.

And what’s a summer party without a live musical performance? One of the most famous Lithuanian singers, Vaidas Baumila, graced the stage. Energy-filled dancing and singing was the best way to end the day and mark the beginning of Q3.

    First-Hand Impressions

For most of our colleagues from abroad, it was their first time visiting Lithuania. They were happy to share their thoughts about Summerfest and experiencing a new culture.

Roberta Correa, an Influencer Partnerships Manager, came from Brazil to Summerfest and said she’d never forget it. In addition to enjoying the party, she also had time to explore the Trakai Castle.

“It felt very good to meet other teams in Lithuania. I had a chance to talk and get to know people personally, and some even recognized me! This kind of networking will help us to work together in the future,” Roberta shares.

    Work Hard, Play Hard

Rebecca Pimenta-Blight, a CS Talent Acquisition Lead, came from France and highlighted that she loved how green and beautiful Lithuania is. She was amazed at how many potato-based dishes Lithuanians have and how delicious they are.

“I communicated with plenty of foreign colleagues at the party. This cultural exchange is valuable to understanding how to respectfully and effectively engage with people. The visit strengthened my connection to Hostinger and deepened my sense of pride and commitment as a remote contractor,” she says.

    Breaking Culture Barriers

Daniela Chan, SEO Outreach Lead, came to the party from Portugal. During her visit, she felt relaxed because of the quiet streets and smaller crowds. It was Daniela’s first time attending Hostinger Summerfest, and she says it was interesting to see how Lithuanians party.

“Nothing beats meeting people face to face. So the highlight was my bonding with the team and meeting new people. This kind of connection helps break down some cultural barriers, and you can more easily appreciate the differences that can’t be transmitted online,” she acknowledges.

    Expectations Exceeded

As always, this year’s Summerfest was the place to combine cultures, discuss various topics, and take part in a number of activities. Most Hostingerians echoed the sentiment that the event had exceeded their expectations. They loved having the unique chance to bond with and meet people they had only interacted with online before.

They also say that the Summerfest served as a reminder of Hostinger’s appreciation for their hard work and dedication. It was a good reminder that it’s necessary to find the time to relax and enjoy ourselves.

Are you ready to boost your career? Do you strive to make a difference daily and love to celebrate a job well done afterward? Then take a look at the open positions we are currently hiring for!

  • Investing in Growth: How Coaching Unlocks the Leader Within Managers

Learn and Be Curious is one of the principles guiding us through daily decisions at Hostinger. For over three years, we have relied on an external coaching program as a valuable learning and development initiative for our employees. So far, more than 130 of them have experienced the CoachHub program’s benefits and have had over 1,200 sessions.

    The Idea Behind It

According to GabrielÄ— ZakaitienÄ—, our People Partner, a good leader has to understand and practice coaching. There is no better way to learn how to be a great coach than to have one. Coaching is about guiding individuals to find their approaches and solutions, not just giving answers.

“In a rapidly growing organization like ours, traditional development methods may not be enough to become a skillful leader. The CoachHub program helps employees to reflect on their leadership journey, enabling them to unlock their team’s strengths. Hostinger fully finances participation in this program to ensure our employees reach the maximum leader potential and have access to experienced coaches worldwide,“ highlights Gabrielė.

Integral to Hostinger’s culture is the belief in employee freedom and responsibility. As such, there is no interference from the company in employees’ conversations with coaches, fostering an environment of trust. This approach empowers employees to solve work-related issues, tackle daily challenges, self-reflect, and see the bigger picture.

    Mutual Benefits

Gabrielė recognizes the benefits Hostinger reaps through this coaching program – external coaching enhances self-awareness and accountability and fosters leadership development. It also helps leaders to become more diagnostic in the decision-making process and allows them to manage teams more effectively. The program offers employees valuable tools for finding innovative solutions, identifying strengths, developing a positive mindset, and building resilience.

Monika Å akytÄ—, Head of Pricing and Commercial Insights, shares her experience as a participant in the coaching program. After the first sessions, she realized it was a great way to develop people, especially those prone to self-reflection and situational analysis, looking for answers and wanting to grow through change.

“During the coaching sessions, you can come up with either questions or a broader topic you would like to focus on and analyze. Coaching has helped me realize that you often have the answers to difficult questions. The person who asks you the right questions allows you to see those answers. When I was working with a coach, I had some very specific questions that I found difficult, and I left with a clear idea of what to do next or a clear picture of the situation,” Monika reveals.

    Flexible and Open to Everyone

As the new six-month coaching program kicks off at the end of August, Gabrielė Zakaitienė reminds us that all Hostinger employees can apply. Participants are selected based on specific criteria and standards, like the developmental stage the leader is in, whether they’ve already finished fundamentals training, how many people they’re leading, and how many stakeholders they have to interact with.

“The program offers flexibility, allowing participants to change coaches, manage sessions, and pause membership if necessary. The program utilizes an AI-enabled technology platform, facilitating personalized communication between coaches and participants, ensuring a seamless coaching journey,” Gabrielė explains.

While personal achievement and improvement are crucial aspects of the program, building a community is equally as vital. That’s why we’ve ensured Hostinger employees have access to channels where they can discuss their experiences and newly-acquired knowledge with other program participants.

    Learn and Be Curious

If you’re thirsty for knowledge and would like to enroll in the CoachHub program, contact your People Partner to express your interest and discuss the developmental ideas you want to focus on. They’ll let you know the precise timelines of upcoming batches and the application process.

Don’t miss your chance to embark on a journey to unlocking top leadership skills!

  • The Great Recharge: Employee Impressions on Month-Long Rest

This February, we introduced Recharge Leave. It’s an additional uninterrupted month-long paid vacation for Hostinger employees who have been here for five years or more. So far, 25 employees from all over the world have pre-booked it. A few of them are already back with their impressions – so how was it?

“To stay engaged, people need time for desired activities – learning, traveling, being with loved ones. Simply slowing down the pace of life. An additional one-month vacation seemed like the right incentive for long-term employees,” says Head of People Gabija Marganavičė.

    Travel and Auditioning

Samanta Brante, an SEO content analyst, has just come back from Recharge Leave. She says that it allowed her to do the things she always wanted to but never found the time for. According to Samanta, everyone should take regular chill-out breaks to disconnect from work and have some time to think about values and goals.

“During my leave, I traveled by plane a lot. Lately, I have been so excited about the aviation industry, and I wanted to experience more flights. I also binge-watched a National Geographic documentary about plane crash investigations.

    View from the plane

“I was in 4 different countries, and 2 of them were completely different from anywhere I had visited before. I wanted to experience the warm weather and different cultures in Venice and Alanya.

“I also planned to spend more time on my hobby – music. I worked on my songs and practiced singing. The best part is that I made it to the local Latvian X Factor audition,” Samanta describes her vacation.

    Samanta on vacation

    Backlogs and Backpacks

Ariane Rückert, an SEO Team Lead, has just returned from Recharge Leave.

“During this time, I traveled a lot with my husband. Our adventures took us to Italy, where we immersed ourselves in the charm of villages around Lake Como, like Bellagio and Varenna. We went hiking and discovered hidden beaches. Of course, we enjoyed some gelato in the romantic Verona.

    Hidden beaches

“I also explored Athens and some other parts of Greece – it was my second time there. However, this time I could recognize some places and pay attention to details,“ recalls Ariane.

    Ariane on vacation

She also checked off several books from her backlog – Ariane read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris.

Ariane believes that the additional vacation time has helped immensely – she feels like she’s starting a new job without the anxiety typically associated with it.

    Benefits Already Obvious

Samanta and Ariane are both of the same mind about Recharge Leave’s benefits. They say additional time off can help re-establish a healthy work-life balance. Both of them now feel more inspired and focused than before.

Within Hostinger, the best consequence of Recharge Leave is its positive impact on the bond between the employer and the employee. Gabija Marganavičė says that strengthening teams and investing in people’s emotional well-being has already paid off in terms of the overall mood throughout the organization.

Moving forward into summer, we’re looking forward to the adventures, musings, and quality time off that Recharge Leave brings our long-term employees.
