  • Divi Plugin Highlight: Woo Essential

Woo Essential is a third-party plugin that adds 8 new Woo Commerce Modules to the Divi Builder. It also adds several features to streamline the shopping process, allowing you to display products and categories in multiple layouts and lots of feature options. In this post, we’ll look at the modules and features of Woo Essential to help you decide if it’s the right product for your needs.

    Woo Essential Divi Modules

Woo Essential adds 8 modules to the Divi Builder. Some of the features require YITH WooCommerce Compare and YITH WooCommerce Wishlist plugins. The free versions are fine for this. You’ll see a notification if you don’t have these installed. Simply click the notification to install and activate them after activating the Woo Essential plugin.

You won’t see all the modules in the Divi Builder at first. Instead, you’ll see one module called Woo Essential. Click this module.

    WooEssential

All the Woo Essential Modules will then display in the modal. You can now add the modules to any Divi layout to display WooCommerce products.

    WooEssential Modules

Let’s take a closer look at each of the Woo Essential Modules. I’ll show the default settings and then show an example of some of the design features.

    Woo Category Accordion

The Woo Category Accordion Module displays the images for the product categories. The images expand on hover to show a description of the category and the number of items in that category. It will show the category image if you have one set up.

    WooEssential Modules: Category Accordion

You have full control over the design for every element. In this example, I’ve added a box shadow, rounded the corners, and changed the font colors and sizes for the category name, count, and description. I’ve also added padding and line height to the description.

    Woo Category Carousel

The Woo Category Carousel creates a slider complete with navigation and automatic sliding. It has lots of settings to adjust the carousel.

    WooEssential Modules: Category Carousel

    Woo Category Grid

The Woo Category Grid displays the categories as cards in a grid. The grid is adjustable, so you can change the number of columns.

    WooEssential Modules: Category Grid

For this one, I’ve added a border, rounded the corners, adjusted the fonts, and changed the grid count and gap settings.

    WooEssential Modules: Category Grid

    Woo Category Masonry

The Woo Category Masonry Module places the categories within a masonry grid.

    WooEssential Modules: Category Masonry Grid

In this example, I’ve adjusted the grid number and gap, and changed the fonts.

    WooEssential Modules: Category Masonry Grid

    Woo Product Accordion

The Woo Product Accordion works like the Woo Category Accordion except it shows the products themselves. It expands on hover to show the product information. Choose which elements to display from the Add to Cart button, price, star rating, description, Featured Product Badge, Sale Badge type, and Sale Badge text. You can also control how the accordion works. All the product modules show the featured image by default.

    WooEssential Modules: Product Accordion

In this example, I’ve adjusted the content background, changed the font colors, changed the badge color, increased the product name font size, and changed the add to cart button color.

    WooEssential Modules: Product Accordion

    Woo Product Carousel

The Woo Product Carousel displays the products in one of six layout options. Each includes a different hover effect for the buttons. You can also choose which elements to display, adjust the carousel settings, etc.

    WooEssential Modules: Product Carousel

You can adjust every element independently. I’ve adjusted lots of the colors, borders, and fonts in this example. I’ve also added arrow navigation. This is Layout 3, which places the cart and other links at the bottom of the image on hover.

    WooEssential Modules: Product Carousel

    Woo Product Filter

The Woo Product Filter adds a WooCommerce product grid with a customizable filter. You can choose which of the elements to display.

    WooEssential Modules: Product Filter

You have full control over every element including the filter, grid, fonts, colors, etc. I’ve changed several of the colors, the font sizes, and adjusted the grid count in this example. I’ve also added a box shadow to both the filter and the product grid.

    WooEssential Modules: Product Filter

    Woo Product Grid

The Woo Product Grid Module displays the products in a grid with a banner that shows the product counts. It has 8 layout options for the grid that changes the size of the image and places the buttons in different locations on hover. You can select the elements that display. This shows layout 8, which places the icons on the right of the image and the Add to Cart button at the bottom of the image on hover.

    WooEssential Modules: Product Grid

You can add pagination with buttons to each page or a Load More button. I’ve added the Load More button in this example and styled it. This is layout 3, which places the title and price under the image and adds the icons close to the bottom of the image on hover.

    WooEssential Modules: Product Grid

    More Woo Essential Features

There are lots of features, most included within the modules, that add functionality to the WooCommerce listings. Here’s a quick look at several of those features.

    Woo Essential Woo Mini Cart

The Mini Cart feature adds a popup menu to the shopping cart. It’s automatically added to the default WordPress header. It only works with the default header, so you won’t be able to add it to headers created with the Divi Builder. This means it’s not as versatile as the other features of this plugin. You can customize all three of its elements independently with the Theme Customizer.

    WooEssential Modules: Mini Cart

It includes four sections of settings for the main cart settings, cart design, view cart button, and checkout button.

    WooEssential Modules: Divi Mini Cart

Control how it works and change the size, shape, colors, fonts, icons, etc. Have it open on hover, on click, or slide from the right or left.

    WooEssential Modules: Divi Mini Cart

The Mini Cart opens a small modal showing the contents of your cart. It can also open a window to the right or left, depending on your settings. This example shows the modal opening on hover. The Fly-In option, which slides from the right or left, gives the modal the full height of the screen.

    WooEssential Modules: Divi Mini Cart

    Woo Essential Quickview Popup

You can view the item details without leaving the current page. The quick view icon is added to several of the modules. Clicking this icon opens the details in a modal. The popup is fast and makes it easy to see the details of the product without loading another page.

    WooEssential Modules: Quick View

The details include all the product information such as the description, gallery, Add to Cart button, category, etc.

    WooEssential Modules: Quick View Popup

    Woo Essential Compare Products

You can compare multiple products by selecting the comparison icon. This process can be a little tricky at first, so many users might not be aware they can compare products.

    WooEssential Modules: Compare Products

To do the comparison, view the products individually that you want to compare. Then, click the compare icon on one of the products. The comparison modal with open with the products compared in a table. This does work, but it isn’t as intuitive as I like. It did take a little work to figure out. The information I needed was in the documentation. You can scroll through the comparison and close the modal when you’re ready.

    Woo Essential Settings

Woo Essential adds a link to the WordPress dashboard. Select this link to open the settings. The first page, Home, includes links to the Knowledge Base, Support and Feedback, Feature Request, and the DiviNext YouTube Chanel.

    Woo Essential Settings

Select Modules to see the second page. Here, you can disable or enable any of the Woo Essential Modules. This is good if you want to restrict the design to just a few modules. All are enabled by default.

    Woo Essential Settings

    Woo Essential Templates

The publisher’s website contains 8 free starter layouts to help you get started with your designs. They also require another Divi plugin to work, so their usability is limited to those with both plugins. They look great and provide lots of sections to use.

    Woo Essential Templates

    Purchase Woo Essential

Wii Essential is available in the Divi Marketplace for $79. It includes unlimited usage, a 30-day money-back guarantee, and one year of support and updates.

    Ending Thoughts

That’s our look at Woo Essentials for Divi. These 8 Divi Modules provide lots of options for product grids and accordions. Display individual products and categories with ease and style them with the Divi Builder. Easily see the content in the cart, the product details, and compare products. I would like to see the Mini Cart as a Divi Module so it can be added to headers created with the Divi Builder. It does work well, though, if you’re using the default WordPress header. If you’re interested in expanding your WooCommerce product pages with lots of interesting grids, Woo Essentials is worth a look.

  • WordPress vs Wix (2023) — Which is Right for You?

In terms of WordPress competitors, they don’t come a lot bigger than Wix. Wix has made a name for itself by offering free websites that require absolutely no experience to create. The Wix team has grown its market share a great deal in recent years. WordPress, however, remains the 800-lb gorilla in the room. Because of its open-source approach, it powers well over 1/3 of the internet. Recent releases for WordPress have made the platform much more new-user friendly, so we are going to take you head-to-head with WordPress vs Wix to see which is the real no-fuss website-building platform.

    1. WordPress vs Wix: Who Are They For?

Wix markets itself as “the platform that gives you the freedom to create, design, manage and develop your web presence exactly the way you want.” It is a fully hosted website platform. You use their page builder to make a professional-looking website from pre-designed templates. That means, first of all, that experienced website developers won’t get a lot out of Wix because they don’t get access to the inner workings. But people without that experience flock to Wix. They are drawn to its simplicity and ability to quickly get a good-looking website off the ground.

WordPress, on the other hand, is openly marketed toward “everyone.” Which is a pretty wide demographic. But because it’s the industry leader in market share, the strategy works for them. WordPress started as a blogging platform that has evolved into a full content management system (CMS). Because of that, users of any skill level can start with WordPress. They choose a theme and can start with their website in a flash. New users will find the Gutenberg block editor intuitive for page and post design. Experienced developers can dig into creating their features and designs by creating and coding their custom themes and plugins.

Both website platforms are incredibly easy for new users to jump into. And each has its unique quirks and learning curves.

    2. WordPress vs Wix: Ease-of-Use

Users don’t want a lot of roadblocks in their way to creating a website and getting their content in front of people. You may be setting up your first site ever. Or your thousandth. Either way, break down how easy it is to get started with a website on WordPress vs Wix.

    WordPress

WordPress originated as a blogging platform, which is evident in its core features, Posts and Pages. The platform’s simplicity and comprehensibility make it easy to use. Custom Post Types are used by major plugins and features, such as Toolset and WooCommerce, to expand the platform’s capabilities. Understanding the basic publishing workflow is enough for users to learn the platform’s advanced features.

    WordPress dashboard

Regrettably, the dashboard and UI haven’t developed as seamlessly as other parts of the platform (e.g., the Gutenberg block editor). The left-hand sidebar can be perplexing and unintuitive for new users. Adding new plugins and themes can lead to clutter and poor navigation, which is expected.

By the time your dashboard gets as cluttered as the one above (which is from a site started in 2013), you will have learned to navigate it and use the features. However, that doesn’t change that the user experience is less-than-stellar.

The main challenge in learning WordPress is discovering the ideal themes and plugins. Thankfully, we can help you with that. We have an exhaustive library of posts to help you choose the best form plugins, some great options for social media integration, popular SEO plugins, as well as WooCommerce and blogging themes to help get you started.

    wordpress theme repository

And if you don’t want to sink that time into it and need a website fast, the default themes and core features look nice and work immediately after installation.

    Wix

Starting with Wix is a bit simpler than WordPress. There are a couple of calls to action on the page prompting you to get started with your free account.

    Get started with Wix

From there, you decide how you want to create the site. You can edit from the ground up using the drag-and-drop page builder. Or you and answer a series of questions about what kind of site you want to have. You might choose eCommerce or blog or portfolio. Whatever you choose, you’re then given a choice of features to include such as forums, contact forms, and email opt-ins. And finally, you choose between 6 different color/font themes and add what pages you want on the site (such as a blog or about me or policies, etc.).

    Wix

Once you choose these elements, Wix loads your dashboard. The whole process is straightforward. When it’s done, you have a ready-to-publish site (outside of not having your content, of course).

Wix’s Dashboard is Difficult to Navigate

However, that’s when the simplicity and ease of use stop. From there, Wix takes you to your dashboard, which is just as cluttered (if not more so) as WordPress’s. But this one contains so many upsells that navigating to actual features you can use versus features locked behind a paywall is like running an obstacle course.

    Design Wix site

Nearly every click in their dashboard brings up some kind of upsell. Even pushing your site live brings up a screen-filling modal that makes it seem as though subscribing is how to proceed. Additionally, messages such as “Get Your Site on Google” and “Get Found on Google” are misleading to users, New website owners may not understand how search crawlers work and the site will be indexed regardless. All that feature does is connect the site to Google Search Console. Which is admittedly important for long-term success, whether your site is Wix vs WordPress.

We mention all of this in this section because this is most certainly an ease-of-use issue. The constant upsells are somewhat distracting. They get in the way of easily designing and launching a site, which is the primary focus of Wix’s marketing.

    WordPress Wix
    Ease of Use 🏳 Draw

Dashboard can be a bit difficult when a lot of plugins are installed, but the core elements are easy to understand.

    🏳 Draw

Getting started is simple, with step-by-step instructions. That being said, the Wix dashboard is full of upsells and is very convoluted.

    3. WordPress vs Wix: Page Builders

Over the past decade, page builders have brought non-designers the ability to create professional-looking websites through templates, drag-and-drop interfaces, and modular elements. Both Wix and WordPress offer these features, and in many ways is the primary way the platforms appeal to new website owners. We take a look at the builders available on both platforms so you know what you’re getting into with either.

    WordPress Page Builders

In terms of ease-of-use, however, WordPress’s Gutenberg block editor does shine as an intuitive way to write and edit posts, as well as design pages (though page builder plugins such as Elementor, and Beaver Builder, and themes such as Divi offer much more advanced options when you get to need those). You add blocks, use built-in controls and options to place them, and then publish. You don’t even need to adjust CSS to create content with it.

    WordPress vs Wix page builder

If you want a more powerful approach, most of the top free WordPress themes come with either a built-in page builder or integrated support for third-party builders like Divi. You get to pick and choose which builder works best for you and has exactly the experience you want.

However, the downside to this is that the only one built into WordPress itself is Gutenberg. And you have to research third-party developers to get more advanced ones.

    Wix’s Builder

Wix’s customizable website’s core is user-friendly, unlike the dashboard. The design of the builders is aesthetically pleasing. Wix offers a step-by-step builder (Wix ADI) and a drag-and-drop builder. Dev mode (powered by Velo) allows you to add custom javascript for additional functionality, but you’ll need to upgrade your account to use it.

add custom code WordPress vs Wix

Neither builder is as effective as popular WordPress editors like Gutenberg. However, first-time users will receive a brief tutorial on adding elements, sections, and pages, and managing the business aspects.

    Wix builder tutorial

The drag-and-drop editor is a superior tool compared to the ADI builder, offering more control over individual elements. With drag-and-drop, you can move elements to any spot without CSS or other elements being affected.

You can swap between elements and pages, and those load a lot faster than the ADI editor. But it still lags in every browser we tried.

Adding elements in Wix page builder

Overall, the Wix builder alone is enough to deter anyone who wants an easy, smooth experience. The app just has enough to be a contender for building a solid website that you can use for anything but a quick announcement or placeholder.

    WordPress Wix
    Page Builders 🥇 Winner
The Gutenberg Block editor is simple and intuitive. Plus, there are an abundance of third-party choices available.
While the aesthetics and overall design are nice, that’s where the effectiveness of Wix ends. The builder is laggy, making swapping between elements painfully slow.
    Choose WordPress Choose Wix

    4. WordPress vs Wix: Customization

It’s easy to spend countless hours tweaking fonts, adjusting plugins, choosing colors, and editing templates. Making sure that your website is perfect for your users is a big part of what being a website owner is about. So we are going to take a look at what WordPress vs Wix offer you in terms of customization and being able to give your users the experience they deserve.

    WordPress Customization

Other WordPress customization options outside of page builders and editors come built into the platform. You can add custom CSS to the site through the Theme Customizer, and even dig into the PHP files for your theme right through the back dashboard (though we don’t recommend doing that).

Part of what makes WordPress appealing is the ability to customize and tweak every aspect of your site. You can add plugins for new features, adjust themes, and dig into the code. That being said, with the introduction of full site editing themes, customizations span even further to custom templates, template parts, and block patterns, without having to edit a single line of code.

    WordPress full site editing

WordPress primarily relies on themes and plugins for customization, whereas Wix focuses on builder-based customization. WordPress.org offers a vast repository of themes and plugins to choose from for establishing a site’s foundation. Plus, there are countless third-party plugins to extend WordPress’s ability. For example, Divi users benefit from the Divi Marketplace, where they can boost Divi’s already stellar capabilities through plugins and extensions.

Theme developers usually include multiple customization options in their designs, enabling users to control the added elements. Users can extend site functionality by installing plugins, which add custom widgets, post types, scripts, and utilities.

    wordpress vs wix plugins

    Wix Customization

In terms of customization, the options that you get in the builders are what you get with Wix. You can tweak elements and keep them all within the designs that will always make your website look put together and professionally designed. Regarding content, you can add whatever you want. Videos, photos, blogs, whatever.

You can customize layouts and various elements for your eCommerce shops and blogs. In general, the customization options within Wix are comparable to other hosted builders like Squarespace or HubSpot. The intent isn’t to give you full rein, as in WordPress. It is to present you with a series of options that work well together and make an aesthetically pleasing final website.

This is good – because as we mentioned earlier – if you want to add anything else to the website via custom code (such as CSS), then you’re going to have to upgrade your membership.

Not even being able to customize CSS is a major lacking point for a website. This is only a limitation on free accounts, however, and a pretty standard one at that. Even free WordPress.com (which is also a free-to-premium platform like Wix) prevents free users from adjusting CSS for their themes.

    WordPress Wix
    Customization 🥇 Winner

WordPress shines in terms of customization based on the sheer amount of plugins and themes available, as well as the ability to add CSS for ultimate control.

What you see is basically what you get with Wix. While you can tweak the available elements, adding CSS will cost you additional fees.
    Choose WordPress Choose Wix

    5. WordPress vs Wix: Ecommerce

Making money by selling something on the internet is many people’s dream. You may want to sell courses or ebooks. Or you might want to have an online space for your in-person shop. Whatever your intent, both WordPress and Wix have quick-and-easy options for setting up shops.

    WordPress Ecommerce

WordPress technically doesn’t have e-commerce built into it. WooCommerce is a separate plugin that you will need to install, but it’s owned and developed by the same company as WordPress, so it might as well be a default e-commerce platform.

    Woocommerce dashboard

When you log into WooCommerce, you have a dashboard that includes full payment reporting, as well as a series of menus to the side with other default features. You get customer details, can create coupons, run reports, send emails to customers, check the status of orders, and so on.

By default, WooCommerce enables PayPal as a payment method. Because PayPal is one of the easiest payment processors available. Even so, PayPal isn’t available in many countries, so you will want more than that. WooCommerce gives you the option for Stripe payments, too, as well as a feature called WooCommerce Payments that the company handles by itself. Plus, there is additional support for other payment processors, too.

    WooCommerce Add-Ons

Furthermore, while WooCommerce offers an impressive selection of extensions to enhance its functionality, you may require additional plugins for specific features. These plugins are often available for purchase as premium or freemium options. Notably, Yith is a well-regarded company offering some of the best WooCommerce add-ons at both price points.

Fortunately, there are numerous options available for WooCommerce, such as SEO plugins and product image zoom plugins, which can greatly improve your online store. Additionally, for brick-and-mortar stores seeking to integrate their online and in-store inventory management, WooPos is an ideal solution to bridge the gap between the two systems.

Probably the biggest issue with WooCommerce is that the shop itself is not very customizable. You can adjust the layout some, but by and large, the majority of WooCommerce shops and products look eerily similar.

    Woocommerce product page

That being said, some premium themes and plugins can be used to create custom product pages. For example, Divi’s Theme Builder can create beautiful product page templates, as well as shop and category page templates with help from Divi’s built-in integration with WooCommerce.

    Wix Ecommerce

First, we want to point out again that Wix is all about the upsells. The platform has an e-commerce shop built into the builder so you can go in and add products just like any other page. However, if you’re a free user (to whom Wix primarily advertises), you cannot accept online payments at all. So you’re forced to upgrade to a premium plan regardless.

wordpress vs wix upselling for ecommerce

Adding products and using the actual builder is painless. It can be sluggish and slow to respond, but in comparison to WooCommerce, the UI is much easier to use. And nicer to look at.

    wix store

All of the options and information you need are in a single place, even creating coupon codes or sending emails to customers. This consolidation is a lot more useful than the WordPress way of spreading things out across multiple screens.

The shop is about on par with the WordPress one. You do get more customization options with Wix, but they’re pretty superficial. You can adjust margins and layout and how text appears and sorting, etc., but your store is probably going to be a pretty standard grid. That said, it probably will be with WordPress and WooCommerce, too.

    WordPress Wix
    Ecommerce 🏳 Draw

WordPress doesn’t come natively with ecommerce functionality, but there are plugin options available. Woocommerce adds a shop to WordPress, but it’s not the most straightforward to set up.

    🏳 Draw

Wix offers the ability to add products in the free version of its software, but if you want to collect payments, you’ll have to upgrade your account. That being said, adding products to the platform is quite simple.

    Choose WordPress Choose Wix

    WordPress and Wix Alternatives

One more thing. Before you make your final decision on your website platform…are you curious to see how WordPress stacks up against its other biggest competitors? We did the hard work and compared WordPress vs everything else so that you don’t have to! Most recently, we reviewed WordPress vs Squarespace, and I think you will be interested to see the results.

Should You Go with WordPress or Wix?

WordPress is a stronger platform than Wix in almost every way. While Wix has some nice features, such as a good UI and a cool drag-and-drop editor, we are not impressed with its platform. However, it is a decent service if you’re willing to upgrade your account a few levels.

Wix’s upselling suggests it targets those who want a free website, but its free option is not functional. Many reasons exist to avoid free websites. Wix markets itself as free, but to use the site you build, you must pay a considerable amount.

With WordPress, you do have to handle a lot more of the backend features. Like theme and plugin installation, maintenance, and hosting. But the power and lack of restriction the platform gives are more than worth learning how to do. Feature by feature, WordPress offers a smoother, more stable experience than the Wix platform.

That being said, WordPress has a slightly steeper learning curve to start, but if you intend to keep the website active for more than a month or two, we say go with WordPress over Wix because of its list of possible integrations, features, and customization options.

    Final Comparison

Here’s a complete breakdown of all the features that both options offer. As you can see, WordPress wins by a wide margin. This is largely due to the fact that there are so many plugins and themes available. Plus, you have more options when it comes to hosting than you do with Wix. WordPress hosts are plentiful, but there are a few such as Cloudways and SiteGround that offer some stand-out features at a very reasonable price.

    WordPress Wix
    Ease of Use 🏳 Draw

Dashboard can be a bit difficult when a lot of plugins are installed, but the core elements are easy to understand.

  • Divi Cloud Sharing – Share And Collaborate With Your Team In The Cloud!

Today we are excited to introduce Divi Cloud Sharing, a new system that allows you to share Divi assets with your team members and collaborate together in the cloud while you build Divi websites. This update brings together Divi, Divi Cloud and Divi Teams in a way that is perfect for WordPress freelancers and agencies.

Before I continue; a quick side note: If you are curious about some of the even bigger updates we are working on, be sure to read my recent post about our ongoing work on Divi 5.0. We’ll soon be giving monthly updates on our progress, starting with the release of Divi 5.0 development alpha next month.

Ok, now let’s explore today’s new feature because it’s really cool!👇

Divi + Divi Cloud + Divi Teams: The Perfect Combo

    Divi Cloud

In case you aren’t familiar with Divi Cloud, let me give you a quick overview. To put it simply, Divi Cloud is like Dropbox for your WordPress websites. It allows you to store your favorite Divi assets in the cloud so that you can access them on every new website you build without leaving the Divi interface. Those assets include Divi Layouts, Theme Builder Templates and Code Snippets, with many more integrations on the way.

    👉 Get Divi Cloud Today

    Divi Teams

In case you aren’t familiar with Divi Teams, let’s explore it quickly as well. Divi Teams is a role-based team management system that allows you to invite people to become part of your Elegant Themes account. They get their own account with their own username and password. Your team members inherit access to your services, such as product downloads, premium support and Divi Cloud. Using the role editor, you control what your team members can and cannot do, enabling you to build an effective and autonomous web design team.

    👉 Start Building Your Team

    Divi Cloud Sharing

Divi Cloud Sharing, today’s new feature, brings these two systems together and allows you to share your Divi Cloud items with your team members, and for your team members to share their items as well. Everyone can choose who gets access to their Divi Cloud library and what they are allowed to do with the items stored within it. You can allow people to manage, add and delete items, or you can limit them to use-only access, which will allow them to use your Divi Cloud items, but not edit or delete them.

How To Share Your Divi Cloud Library

To get started with Divi Cloud Sharing, you will first need to invite your team. Log in to your Elegant Themes account and navigate to the Team Tab, and then click the invite button to start building your team.

In the Cloud Tab, you can view all of your team members and share your Divi Cloud library with anyone on the list. Using the available permission, you can control what each person is allowed to do within your library.

In the example above, I have given two of my clients use-only access to my layout library. This will allow them to use all of my custom layouts, without being able to edit or delete them. It’s a nice way for me to customize the experience and add extra value to my web design package.

I have also granted 3 of my team members full access to my library by selecting all of the available permissions. This will allow us to work together and collaborate on the same collection of assets.

    Divi Cloud Sharing Permissions

The Divi Cloud Sharing interface comes with four permissions that can be granted to each person on your team.

    • Can Use Items – Users with this permission will be able to view and use all items in your Divi Cloud library. They won’t be able to add items to your library, nor will they be able to edit or delete any of your items. This is a great permission to give your clients if you simply want to share your assets.
    • Can Add Items – Users with this permission can add new items to your Divi Cloud library, including layouts, theme builder templates and code snippets.
    • Can Edit Items – Users with this permission will be able to edit items in your cloud. That means they can edit existing layouts, templates and code snippets. They can also rename, re-categorize, re-tag and editing your existing categories and tags as well.
    • Can Delete Items – Users with this permission can delete items from your Divi Cloud library.

    Navigating Shared Libraries Within Divi

When using Divi Cloud on a WordPress website, you can see all of the libraries that have been shared with you inside the left hand sidebar. Clicking on a library will open it up and display all the items stored within it. Depending on the level of access granted to you by the library owner, you can add, edit, delete, and use items stored within these libraries. You can also copy and move items between different libraries using the right click menu.

    Start Sharing Today

With the introduction of Divi Cloud Sharing, your web design team can now collaborate effectively in the cloud while they build Divi websites. That’s the beauty of Divi Cloud. You never have to leave the WordPress website you are working on. All of our shared assets are available within the Divi interface!

You can maintain shared libraries with your favorite layouts, templates and code snippets. You can also share layout collections with your clients as a way to add more value to your web design package.

Divi Cloud Sharing is available today, so update Divi and let us know what you think in the comments. Stay tuned for more great Divi features coming soon, and don’t forget to follow and subscribe so that you can be the first to know when our next Divi feature is released. Contact Form 7 is a free WordPress contact form plugin that has been one of the most popular on the market. It offers the basic functionality of creating simple WordPress forms with checkboxes and dropdown menus, integrates with anti-spam tools, and is completely free. However, it has some limitations, such as not having a visual form builder and requiring basic HTML knowledge to create or customize the forms. So it can be difficult to match the style of your form with your site. The code syntax in Contact Form 7 is not very user-friendly, making it difficult for beginners to set up. Additionally, there is limited support available for this free plugin, and finding add-ons to extend its functionality can be challenging due to the lack of an add-ons directory.

If that’s not your cup of tea, you can also add an account header to your feed and a separate Follow button. On top of those options, Spotlight lets you customize every aspect of your feed, including post order, the number of columns, width, height, padding, and even text size.

Using this plugin, you can connect multiple accounts to your site and display feeds either using shortcodes or through widgets.

    Social feed Gallery logo

Social Feed Gallery is an Instagram plugin that offers a lot of options when it comes to customization. You can use it to link multiple profiles and set up unique feeds for each of them.

Each feed receives its own shortcode, and you can choose from four different styles to showcase your photos. Regardless of which type of gallery you use, you get to choose how many posts to display and the number of columns.

Moreover, Social Feed Gallery enables you to limit your feed in WordPress to posts that use specific hashtags. This is a handy feature if you only want to share some of your content on WordPress and not your entire Instagram backlog.

Finally, Social Feed Gallery doesn’t force you to go through a complex authentication process. Linking an account only requires you to confirm that you give the plugin access to it.

  • How to Include a Contact Form in Your Divi Footer

Divi’s footer is a great place to add a contact form. Fortunately, this is easy to do with the Divi Theme Builder. Of course, we don’t want to just add it anywhere as there are a few things to keep in mind for usability. In this post, we’ll see how to include a contact form in your Divi footer. We’ll go through a couple of examples to help you get started.

    Let’s get started!

About the Contact Form in Your Divi Footer

Why Include a Contact Form in Your Divi Footer?

The footer is a location where visitors will look for specific information. This includes ways to contact you. Adding a contact form to the footer not only makes that contact information visual but also simplifies the process.

Where to Add the Contact Form

When choosing a location for the contact form, look at the other footer elements to see what would clash for attention.

It’s best to place the contact form near other contact information, but you don’t want it fighting the email form. Placing two forms next to each other can confuse your visitors. Place the contact form in a different Row or Section from the email form. Add enough whitespace around the contact form so that it stands apart from the rest of the content.

The example below is from the free Header and Footer Template for Divi’s Stone Factory Layout Pack. This is a great example of how to use a contact form in the footer. This layout includes a contact form and an email form. The contact form is placed with the contact information in a different Row from the links and email form. It’s also a different color than the email form and it’s labeled well, so visitors will know at a glance which form is which.

Where to Add the Contact Form

How to Include a Contact Form in Your Divi Footer

The best way to add a contact form to your Divi footer is by building the footer in the Divi Theme Builder. A contact form can also be added to any existing footer. The process of adding the form is the same.

    Import Your Divi Footer Layout

In the WordPress dashboard, go to Divi > Theme Builder. Select Add Global Footer if you don’t have a global footer, select Add New Template, or choose the footer template you want to add the contact form to. We’ll import a new footer. For this example, we’ll add a contact form to the Header & Footer for Divi’s Financial Services Layout Pack.

Select the Portability icon in the upper right corner of the Theme Builder. Navigate to your header and footer template on your computer, select it, and click Import Divi Theme Builder Templates. Save your changes.

    Import Your Divi Footer Layout

Next, select the Edit icon for the footer template. This will open the footer template in the builder where we’ll make our changes.

    Import Your Divi Footer Layout

How to Add the Divi Footer Contact Form

Next, we’ll add the contact form to the footer layout. First, we’ll need to make some adjustments to the layout’s design. We see the layout has two Sections. The top Section has a title to identify that it’s the contact information. This Section includes three types of contact information lined up horizontally.

We’ll stack the contact information on the right, above the email subscription form. Then, we’ll place a Divi Contact Form Module on the left. This increases the size of this Section and balances the footer with a form on each side.

How to Add the Divi Footer Contact Form

    Move the Contact Information

First, drag and drop the Text Modules to the right column. Stack them to show Email on top, Office in the middle, and Phone on the bottom.

    Move the Contact Information

    Adjust the Row

Next, adjust the Row to show two columns instead of three.

    Adjust the Row

    Add the Contact Form

Finally, add a Contact Form Module to the left Column.

    Add the Contact Form

We now have a contact form added to our Divi layout. The contact form balances well with the email form on the other side of the layout. Of course, it works but it won’t fit well with the layout’s design until we style it.

    Add the Contact Form

How to Style the Divi Footer Contact Form

Now, let’s see how to style the Divi Contact Form Module to match the layout. We’ll look at two examples, including the one we’ve already started. We’ll use design cues from the layout itself.

Divi Footer Contact Form Example One

For this one, we’ll style the form we added in the previous section.

    Text

Open the Contact Form Module’s settings. Enter the text for the Title and Submit Button.

    • Title: Contact Us Today
    • Submit Button: Get in touch

Divi Footer Contact Form Example One

    Fields

Next, go to the Design tab. Change the Fields Background Color to #ffba52 and change the Fields Text Color to #0f1154. Leave the focus colors at their default settings. This allows them to use the same colors as the regular fields.

    • Background Color: #ffba52
    • Text Color: #0f1154

Divi Footer Contact Form Example One

Next, change the Fields Font to Montserrat. Set the Weight to Bold and the Size to 16px.

    • Font: Montserrat
    • Weight: Bold
    • Size: 16px

Divi Footer Contact Form Example One

    Title Text

Next, scroll down to Title Text. Choose H3 for the Heading Level. The title of this section uses H2, so selecting H3 will build the proper page structure. Select Montserrat for the Font. Select Bold for the Weight and change the Color to #1d4eff.

    • Heading Level: H3
    • Font: Montserrat
    • Weight: Bold
    • Color: #1d4eff

Divi Footer Contact Form Example One

    Captcha Text

Next, scroll down to Captcha Text. We’ll make changes to the Captcha Text in this setting, but we’ll also add some CSS to change the field color. Change the Font to Roboto, the Weight to Medium, and the Color to #1d4eff. We’ll add the CSS at the end.

    • Font: Roboto
    • Weight: Medium
    • Color: #1d4eff

Divi Footer Contact Form Example One

    Button

Next, scroll down to Button and enable Use Custom Styles for Button. Change the Font Size to 16px, the Font Color to white, and the Background Color to #1d4eff.

    • Use Custom Styles for Button: Yes
    • Size: 16px
    • Text Color: #ffffff
    • Background Color: #1d4eff

Divi Footer Contact Form Example One

Set the Border Width and Border Radius to 0px for both. Change the Font to Roboto and the Weight to Medium.

    • Border Radius: 0px
    • Border Width: 0px
    • Font: Roboto
    • Weight: Medium

Divi Footer Contact Form Example One

Next, scroll down to Button Padding. Enter 14px for the Top and Bottom Padding and 24px for the Left and Right Padding.

    • Padding: 14px Top and Bottom, 24px Left and Right

    Captcha Background

Finally, go to the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Captcha Field. Enter the CSS below into the field. This gives the background a different color from the rest of the form, so users will know it’s different. Now, close the module and save your settings.

    • Captcha Field CSS:
      background-color:rgba(255,186,82,0.2)

Divi Footer Contact Form Example Two

Let’s look at another example. For this one, I’m using the global footer from the free Header & Footer for Divi’s Podcaster Layout Pack. We’ll replace the contact email with a contact form.

Divi Footer Contact Form Example Two

    Delete Email Text Module

First, delete the Contact Us and email Text Modules. We’ll replace the title with the one from the Contact Form Module.

Divi Footer Contact Form Example Two

    Change Row Column Width

Next, change the column layout to display two equal columns. This gives us more room for the contact form.

Divi Footer Contact Form Example Two

    Adjust Column

Next, we’ll change the Background of the column for the contact form. This gives us more control over the form’s design. Open the settings for the right column.

Divi Footer Contact Form Example Two

Scroll down to Background and select the Background Gradient tab. Set the first Gradient Stop’s Color to #f52791 and leave it at its position of 0%. Set the second Gradient Stop’s Color to #3742fb and leave its position at 100%. Change the Direction to 120deg.

    • First Gradient Stop: #f52791, 0%
