How to Upload The Template
Go to Divi Theme Builder
To upload the template, navigate to the Divi Theme Builder in the backend of your WordPress website.
Upload Website Template
Then, in the top right corner, you’ll see an icon with two arrows. Click on the icon.
Navigate to the import tab, upload the JSON file that you could download in this post, and click on ‘Import Divi Theme Builder Templates’.
Save Divi Theme Builder Changes
Once you’ve uploaded the file, you’ll notice a new template with a new body area that has been assigned to All Category Pages. Save the Divi Theme Builder changes as soon as you want the template to be activated.
How to Modify The Template
Open Category Page Template Body Layout
To modify the template’s elements, start by opening the template’s body layout.
Inside the Body Layout Editor, you can edit the design on the front end using the Divi Builder just like you would with a normal Divi page.
About the Divi Poke Restaurant Category Template
This category page template has a few dynamic elements that will work automatically including:
Category Page Post/Archive Title: This will show the name of the category/archive.
Post Slider Module: This will cycle through the first three posts within the category/archive every 3.5 seconds.
Blog Module: This will display 6 blog posts in 3 columns within the selected category/archive. This module includes an offset of 3 posts to account for the posts within the Post Slider Module in the header.

Updating the Template’s Dynamic Elements
Post Slider Module
Posts for Current Page
Since this is a template that has been assigned to all category pages for the site, there are going to be one or more blog modules that are set to display posts for the current page. This is how the template displays the posts dynamically for each category page. For this template, that will be the Post Slider Module and the Blog Module.
Post Count
When you install the Divi Poke Restaurant Category Layout, the Post Count for the Post Slider Module will be set to the number three. However, you can change this value to suit your needs.
Automatic Animation
We also have set the speed of the Post Slider Module to 3,500 ms (milliseconds), which is also 3.5 seconds. However, you can change the speed of the transition within the Design tab of the Post Settings Module.
Blog Module
Post Offsets
Similar to the Post Slider Module, the Blog Module will show the current posts for the selected category or archive. However, remember that if you have modified the number of posts that show up within your Post Slider Module, you will also need to update the Post Offset setting within this Blog Module so that there isn’t any repeated blog posts.
It is also recommended to keep the Post Count within a multiple of 6 (6, 12, 18 etc.).
Updating the Template’s Static Elements
Some elements on a category page template will need your immediate attention before using it live on your own website. These elements are called static because they will not update dynamically.
Email Optin
To allow the Email Optin Module to show up in your design, you’ll need to link an email account.

Once there, you will need to go to the Bluehost website in a new tab and click on the green ‘Get Started Now’ button.
This will bring you to a pricing page where you can choose a hosting plan for your website.
We recommend choosing a Basic or Plus plan, as they’re the most popular web hosting plans among our readers.
After selecting a plan, click on ‘Continue.’
On the next screen, you’ll need to choose a domain name.
Ideally, the domain name will be easy to pronounce and spell, easy to remember, and related to your business. The name of your restaurant is a great place to start, but sometimes that domain may already be taken by another business.
In that case, you can try extending the domain name by adding your restaurant’s location, your own name, or the type of food you serve.
After choosing a name, click on the ‘Next’ button to continue.
Now you’ll need to provide your account information such as your name and email address. After that, you’ll also see optional extras that you can purchase.
We generally don’t recommend purchasing these extras straight away, as you can always add them later on if you need them.
After that, simply type in your payment information to complete the purchase.
Once you’ve done that, you’ll get an email with instructions on how to login to your web hosting control panel. This is your hosting account dashboard where you can manage your restaurant website, including setting up email notifications and asking for WordPress support.
It’s also where you’ll install the WordPress software.
Step 2. Create a New WordPress Website
When you signup with Bluehost using our link, Bluehost installs WordPress on your domain name automatically.
If you want to create a different WordPress website, then you can simply click on the ‘My Sites’ tab in the Bluehost dashboard.
Next, just click on the ‘Add Site’ button and select ‘Create New Site.’
The Bluehost wizard will now guide you through the setup process.
First, you’ll need to type in a site title and optional tagline.
Click on the ‘Next’ button to continue.
After that, Bluehost will ask you to select a domain name and path for your restaurant website. If you’ve already purchased a domain name, then you can simply select it from the dropdown menu.
If you don’t have a domain name then you can buy one by visiting the ‘Domains’ page inside the Bluehost dashboard.
After choosing a domain name, you can leave the directory path blank and let Bluehost fill it in for you. The installer will also show a few must-have WordPress plugins that you may want to install on your restaurant website including OptinMonster.
After that, click on the ‘Next’ button and the installer will set up your restaurant site.
Once it’s finished, you’ll see a ‘WordPress installed successfully’ message with information about your new website. You can now go ahead and click on the ‘Log into WordPress’ button.
This will take you to your site’s admin area.
You can also log in to the WordPress dashboard by simply going to yoursite.com/wp-admin/ directly from your browser.
Your typical restaurant website needs special features, like the ability to show a menu, photos, location information, business hours, and more.
With that in mind, it makes sense to look for a theme that’s designed for the food or hospitality industry. To help you out, we’ve collected the best WordPress restaurant themes.

After installing your theme, you may want to customize it by going to Appearance » Customize in the WordPress dashboard.
This will launch the theme customizer where you can fine-tune the theme settings and see your changes in the live preview.
If you’re using one of the newer full site editing themes, then you’ll see the option for Appearance »Editor, which uses blocks similar to the content editor to customize your site.

Step 4. Create a Custom Home Page
WordPress has two two default content types called posts and pages.
You’ll typically use posts to create articles and blogs. By default, the home page shows these posts in reverse chronological order, so the newest content appears at the top of the list.

If you are going to write blogs, then make sure you create a separate blog page to display your posts. If you don’t, then customers will struggle to find your latest WordPress blogs.
Step 5. Create an Online Restaurant Menu
Even long-term, loyal customers may want to look at your menu from time to time. By publishing your menu online, customers can look at it any time of day or night.
Publishing a menu can also help convince new customers to visit your restaurant.

Step 10. Add Social Proof to Your Restaurant Website

How to Upload The Template

How to Modify The Template
Open Header Template
To modify the global header template’s elements, start by opening the template.
Select Menu of Choice
Select a menu of your choice in the Menu Module.
Add Button Link URL
This header has a button on the top right. Open it’s settings update the link URL to the destination of your choice.
Update Social Media Icons and Destinations
With our Social Media Follow Module, you have a wide variety of social media icons which you can use to send people to read various reviews about your business. Select your social media accounts and remember to link them to their respective destinations.
Open Footer Template
Continue by opening the global footer inside the default website template.
Link Social Media Accounts
The footer for the Divi Poke Restaurant Layout Pack has two places for social media links. The first Social Media Follow Module is for social media networks that have reviews. So if you’re using a particular website to collect reviews – think Google, Yelp or Foursquare — this will be the place to put them. The second Social Media Follow Module is for your social media pages. This would like to websites like Facebook, Twitter… even TikTok. This module is used to drive traffic to these external social media sites
Choose Footer Menu
We also have a menu in the footer which you’ll need to update to meet your needs.
Adjust Static Divi Modules
In addition to two Social Media Follow Modules, our footer template makes use of some static elements that will need to be updated before making your website live.
Blurb Module: Used as a call-to-action for reviews. Social proof as an online business is essential.
Text Modules: We use text modules for the address, phone number and store hours.
